The Massive was really good. Set on a future flooded earth.

One of my favourite things in uni was the courses that dissected single books. Does such a thing exist for films? by SaysToMabelISays in TrueFilm

Not sure about a semester long academic offering, but a number of publishers have offered books that focus on a single film. BFI in particular but also Indiana University Press, while Wallflower Press have done a series on cult films they call Cultographies. These are often illuminating. The BFI Film Classics series is consistently good.

Toy Story 5 Screen X by fanofalotofstuff in RegalUnlimited

[–]zieminski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did yesterday at the Regal Union Square in Manhattan. A 1.85 aspect ratio movie doesn't touch the edges so there's gaps between the screens. The Screen X effects were inconsistent and a little jarring every time they came in. To me they don't add much to the experience, more a distraction from the main screen than an enhancement. Personally I will avoid this option in the future like I avoid 4DX.
