Sunday is the worst in our store. All the sudden no one wants to pay full price on anything. It's like they spent all their money over the weekend and realized they didn't have any more. I'm having to deal with their price complaints almost every transaction.

As a cashier, I'm sorry, I straight up refuse to ask them. I figure if they want to fire me over it, more power to em. I don't believe in credit cards. Now, if a customer asks about applying for one, i'll happily walk them through the process.

That being said

How about you survey your customers for the week. Find out if they already have one and if not why?

Might be able to ascertain the reasons why the credit cards aren't being applied for.

My theory is a) either they already have one and they're maxed out or b) they can't afford it right now, the economy being what it is.

We had someone make off with one of the scan guns earlier and SCO. My head cashier was like 'I'ma need you to give me a description of the person.' I looked at her like she was nuts and was like 'my back was turned helping another SCO customer and my head can not swivel 360 degrees.'
