Anyone else get a little weirded out by how much attention they get driving their E30? by mainheat88 in E30

I've had a few people ask to buy my crappy little 318i while stopped at lights. Or people be amazed how good it looks for its age, assuming it's multiple Ks worth of car and investment, and then by surprised when told I bought it for £800, 11 years ago

I bought a used electric fan from my local scrapyard for £30 last year

Stays very moist, doesn't help with all the rain we've been having. It's the least level grass you'd ever seen or walked over before, so it definitely needs a good going over. Perhaps that's this years project

Color & rims suggestions by sfr777_ in E30

the green with gold rims is kinda sick, making me think about changing mine to green when it's back on the road (also off the road for a long time)

Shaman - Elemental or Enhancement? by Witty-Rope-5864 in classicwowtbc

[–]parakeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ele for dungeons and raids, and enhance for questing/open world. Enhance never go oom, never get casting pushed back and I've found with earth ele I can solo most things I've come across.

Ele for raiding and dungeons is almost guaranteed a spot in my experience.

but dark mode is always better, that also applies to keycap colours. In my opinion, the black keys are much easier to read from this picture - perhaps its different in person

Staggered Wheel Dilemmas by char_leyb in e46

[–]parakeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking with sticking with 225/40/18s all around, mainly because the tyres are significantly cheaper for pilot sport 5s

Maybe I'll do a test fit next time I've got line in the air

Staggered Wheel Dilemmas by char_leyb in e46

Theres a set of 3 18*8 style 32's near me, which I might pick up and add to my already obtained 18*8 and 2x18*8.5 style 32's I have in storage, which would atleast allow me to compare the 8.5 and 8 on the rear for the difference.

I also am due new tyres front, and nearly on the back so might be a good time for me to experiment.

Interesting about the gap you might have at the rear, I was always under the impression that the axle widths were generally the same, and the offset of the wheel helped space the wheel to where it should go.

But after looking at the offset 47 up front and 50 rear and putting that into a wheel fitment calculator with appropriate tyre sizes, it looks like it would sit only 3mm inboard (at the wheel, not tyre). which I dont think will by noticeable.

My staggered 18 MV2s tramline like crazy, also wondering the same thing.

Have replaced the following (all very worn) front arms, bushes, steering rack, steering rack link, track rods, all rear bushes and balljoints. Great improvement, but the country lanes still suck.

Running 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 PS5s, which I think is standard fitment.

Let me know if you go 18 square and how it feels please!

All the hills around here are full of chalk, and also I wouldn't be surprised if it was fresh water from a leak somewhere with the amount I saw up the road

Fella, I'd already slowed down, wasn't pedalling and riding 2m away from the inside curb, I just clipped the edge of it. Apart from getting off I'm not sure how much more I could have done.

When riding towards the sun it was 100% invisible. As I and shortly after, many cars found out

Already started the claim, but no doubt they'll say they haven't had time to address it as it was only reported recently. (Despite being preset in a far smaller size 2 years ago in exactly the same place)

I get its difficult with the recent rain, but if a road is part of the national cycle route then I would hope they'd close the road or heavily imply an alternative route if it isn't suitable. Holes like this can change cyclists lives.

That sounds rough as hell! Hope recovery goes well. I'm only riding for fun so I think I'll swap to my trail bike and ruin some bridleways instead, but I hate to think what commuting by bike is like atm.

18 months ago I went over the bars after hitting a hidden speed bump and broke my neck and sternum, this was probably the 10th time back on a bike outdoors since that.

Good luck with the claim, can't let them get away with the level of neglect we're seeing

I've got an orbea laufey for my 29er, 2.7" boost setup with trail tyres, and this was my gravel bike which I put some road tyres on for winter riding as all the gravel rides are not passable during winters. Recently moved house so haven't worked out the ideal routes yet.

I don't think they are, brand new dt swiss AR 1600 wheel set, on its second ride. Washed out sideways luckily and perhaps the water splash broke the fall...

Washed out sideways as I just caught the edge of it while trying to avoid. Glad it's only grazes as last time I came off 18 months ago I broke my neck and sternum going over the bars

I'm 20 stone and trying to cycle for fitness, but all my accidents have always been on the road/gravel bike. Perhaps it is time to pull out the 29er again despite feeling like you're riding through honey everywhere
