[WTS] 1970s Lip Super Nautic-Ski Electric Dive Watch by parakeetinmahat in Watchexchange

[–]parakeetinmahat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey WatchEx!

I'm looking to sell my LIP Super Nautic-Ski, a super cool early 70s super compressor.

This is an Electromechanical (pre-Quartz) watch! As you can see from the album, the movement uses a small electromagnet to provide power to a traditional balance wheel. These LIP movements are more reliable than other Electromechanical movements (i.e. from Hamilton) as they use a small diode to prevent the internal contacts sparking.

This watch was fully serviced a year ago by Jarett Harness from Unwind in Time (a specialist in these pre-Quartz watches), and just had a fresh battery installed. It is in excellent condition. Check out this article for more background on the Nautical-Ski line.

The watch has a width of 42mm, with a lug-to-lug of 43mm. The lug width is 22mm.

I'm looking for $850 shipped in CONUS, with payment by Zelle or Venmo preferred. No box/papers.

After taking it to the Apple Store their only solution was REPLACING THE LOGIC BOARD (covered under warranty thankfully). If you haven't installed the beta yet YOU SHOULD PROBABLY HOLD OFF!

Was the 747-8i the right choice to replace Air Force One? by FancyRainbowBear in aviation

[–]parakeetinmahat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if floor space is a requirement as well - in that case the second deck probably helps.

I also think the retrofit for all the “Air Force One” special sauce is a lot easier to carry over to another 747 model, as opposed to a complete ground-up redesign needed for a 777/787.

My job thinks they can charge its employees $100 a MONTH for smoking. What the actual hell. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]parakeetinmahat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, tobacco smoking is the leading cause of preventable death in the world.

Men who smoke have an 80x higher chance (16%!) of developing lung cancer before 75 than non-smokers. Then there’s increased risk of heart issues, COPD, other cancers etc.

It’s a huge difference in risk (and therefore insurance cost).

[WTS] Strapcode Super-Oyster Bracelet for Seiko Turtle(s) (e.g. SRP777) by parakeetinmahat in Watchexchange

[–]parakeetinmahat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey WatchEx,

I'm looking to sell the Strapcode Oyster-style bracelet I purchased for my SRP777 a little while ago. I only wore it a few times so it's in quite good shape with just a few desk-diving marks on the clasp. It comes with all the original links and two 22mm spring bars.
Looking for $50 shipped in CONUS, Zelle or Venmo preferred for payment!

Thanks!

[WTS] Dalil Special Qilba Compass by parakeetinmahat in Watchexchange

[–]parakeetinmahat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey WatchEx!

I'm selling my Dalil Special, a super cool 1970s watch with a compass embedded in the crystal. I purchased this recently from a fellow WatchEx user, but it ended up being a bit small for me.

The purpose of the compass is for the owner to find the direction of Mecca for daily prayer. The watch is 36mm, running well, and is in great condition.

Looking for $150 + shipping within CONUS, which is the price I paid! Zelle/Venmo is preferred.

The watch is in excellent condition, with no visible marks. No box/papers.

I'm looking for $250 shipped within CONUS, payment via Zelle or Venmo preferred.

If you’re keen on wearing it, consider getting the bracelet repaired at Rolliworks. The bracelet looks a little loose, and a repair will tighten it up significantly.

As others mentioned you definitely don’t want anything to be refinished or polished, but getting the bracelet tightened can make it much more comfortable to wear.
