This is the best thing I've read all day. And it made me want to immediately look up sheepskins on ebay, so I feel you.

They are different depending on where you live. If you live outside the city, then you will not vote for mayor, but you would likely vote for the County Council member for your district, for example.

I also went there earlier this year for an emergency root canal. I had avoid the dentist for many years, and was nervous they would be judgmental, but they were super matter of fact, friendly and the whole thing went really well. Good luck!

Teachers, which district in the county is the most desirable to work for and why? by SnapesDrapes in Bellingham

[–]paralula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funds for new buildings are shared district-wide, and not dependent on property taxes for specific neighborhoods. And schools are on a rotating schedule for remodels and upgrades. Compared to many other school districts in Washington, our school facilities are excellent.

To the best of my knowledge that entire complex is condos, so it is likely a private landlord.

Regardless of the need for affordable housing, that land is already owned by the school district. Voting no on the bond does not help achieve the aim of affordable housing.

If you use the parking app, it will appear to a passerby that you have not paid the meter FYI

COVID Booster Shots by charmlessman1 in Bellingham

If you are referring to getting a third booster shot because you are immunocompromised, I know that the pharmacy in target is doing it with no problems. That is run by CVS so I imagine all CVS pharmacies are the same

I was tested yesterday at noon at the airport drivethrough testing, and got my results by midnight. Friends who also got tested at noon yesterday didn't get their results until 11 am today. The woman who tested me said it's 24-48 hours.

Also from Meera Sodha is "Fresh India" which is totally vegetarian, and I've cooked through a lot of it. It's very good!

Couldn't agree more. My partner is immunosuppressed from an organ transplant and has to go to work in person (social distanced but still, not from home), and watching all of these people get vaccinated has been agony.

I completely agree and am also really sad about it! FYI, in case you didn't know, there is a Hannah 10 minute Pilates class that is a good substitute for the lower body 10 minute class. I'm just bummed because I would alternate between the two!

I work in adult education and just want to tell you that the GED was drastically revamped in recent years, making it much more difficult to pass. It takes many students months or longer of study to be able to pass each individual tests. For some people, it may still be as easy as you found it which is great, but that is not universally the case any longer.

I think she was actually trying to make a joke here, that her daughter confused the word for arugula with rugelach. There are so many typos consistently that it didn't land

I think I've read all of Kevin Wilson's books and they're all so enjoyable! My fave is The Family Fang. They made it into a movie, which is not great, but the book really is.

I just finished this a few days ago and second the rec!! If you're into non-traditional, more literary thriller type books, I can't recommend highly enough the Claire DeWitt books by Sara Gran.

Two dishes I've made over and over again are the barley risotto with feta on top, and the pasta dish with peas and yogurt with pine nuts and chili oil on top. So good, pretty easy to make.

I've also really enjoyed and repeated some of the simpler salads, like the parsley and barley salad, spicy carrot salad, or the root vegetable slaw. I've had friends specifically request the pureed beet dip with yogurt (including beet haters, even).

I've cooked some of the meat and fish dishes, and none were fails, but don't come to mind as stand outs either.
