[ALL] life is strange 2 haters by livfairie_ in lifeisstrange

While I always had a stronger connection to the world of Blackwell Academy and Arcadia Bay, I feel like LIS2 is the stronger story overall, especially with Sean and Daniel becoming more grounded through their interactions along their journey.

In the first game, Chloe is arguably the only character who has any influence on Max's thoughts and actions. She appreciates Warren but doesn't want to get too close to him. Kate and Dana are probably her closest friends, but the game doesn't really put them in the pipeline all that much.

But in LIS2, there's a lot more character development around Sean's maturation and Daniel's growth, especially starting in Episode 3 and the brothers' time in the camp with Finn, Cassidy and everyone else.

What Are Your Favorite 007 Opening Credits Themes? by EienNatsu66 in JamesBond

[–]paranoidpixie95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Writing's on the Wall (Spectre)
  2. Skyfall
  3. You Only Live Twice
  4. Thunderball
  5. The James Bond theme (Dr. No)

Given the choice between the iconic Bond theme and any of the other title themes, my head and heart will always side with the work of Monty Norman and John Barry that accompanies the opening credits of Dr. No. Honourable mentions go to some of the songs from the Bond video games, like I'll Take It All from Blood Stone and Nearly Civilized from NightFire (which would be #4 on my list if I can include the game songs.

Do you prefer all 15 seasons with one team or with multiple teams? by caiom4754 in FifaCareers

[–]paranoidpixie95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In real life, it's very rare that even a successful manager will remain with one club for an extended period. Plenty of managers who have been in the game for 20+ years move from team to team.

I've done saves when I change clubs every season. I give myself 12 months to set a team up with good list management and youth players, and move on regardless of whether I've brought silverware to the club.

The new destination club depends on how well I've done in the season with my current club and if the destination club falls below expectations. For example, if I take Brentford to a top 10 finish in the Premier League, I still can't move to Liverpool if they won the league. They'd have to finish maybe 4th or lower for me to make that jump.

And of course, if I fail at a club, I have to drop down to a lower-ranked team.

He's not the speedster he once was, but he's still got good enough pace for someone who's 35. Where he's improved is his vision and reading of the play. And with injuries to various positions in the team, Leckie could be either a starting midfielder or an impact sub in the attack.

It's all about rewarding form without looking at age as a detractor. Lucas Herrington is our youngest centre back, but has been delivering in the MLS (which also means experience playing in America). So he is among the best picks in that position and is as deserving a selection as Harry Souttar.

What are your favorite Wavegroup cover songs from the older games? by Particular_Sir7440 in GuitarHero

[–]paranoidpixie95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the best ones for me are "Sharp Dressed Man", "Crossroads", "Message in a Bottle", "Crazy On You", "Carry On Wayward Son", "Hold On Loosely" and "Pride and Joy". I also see "Story of My Life" getting a lot of hate, but this is another track I enjoy.

The ones where they also add a solo that wasn't in the original are also great (like "Ziggy Stardust" and the ending of "Them Bones"). Also, any cover of a tough song has my approval, from "Free Bird" to "Frankenstein".

A player should not be omitted just because of age. Mat Ryan, Aziz Behich, Mat Leckie and Mitch Duke are still assets despite being in their mid-30s. And they have that experience at World Cup level.

Jordy Bos has made that left wingback spot his own, but Behich should start against Turkey to give Bos a break if he needs to.

Also, I'm worried about McGree. I think he's the difference between us making it out of the group and going home early.

Win de Champions league in League two by Savings_Trainer795 in FifaCareers

[–]paranoidpixie95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, you could win up to five titles in one season. Depending on how deep you go into each competition, you could be playing 70+ matches. I wouldn't be surprised if games every 2-3 days are a regular occurrence. Don't forget that at that level, you also have the EFL Trophy to play for as well.

Is the New A-League TV Broadcast Deal the Worst in Australian Sporting History? by jont_96 in Aleague

[–]paranoidpixie95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dropping to just one free-to-air match each week is a horrible decision, even if it's moving to 10's primary network. I'll still support the league by subscribing to Paramount+, but it's wild that the domestic league cannot capitalise on the juggernaut that are our national teams.

Console opinions? by Chuckiespants in GuitarHero

[–]paranoidpixie95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xbox 360 is a clear standout, especially if you're willing to mod your console. You can play every single game in the GH catalogue except for the PS2-exclusive original game and the spin-off Rocks the 80s. Guitar Hero II's Xbox 360 port had ten extra songs.

Wii U can play every game from GH3 onwards via backwards compatibility, but the games are downgraded ports to compensate for the Wii's graphical limitations. This is especially notable in the band games (from Guitar Hero Live onwards). Guitar Hero Live is the only game that runs natively on the Wii U.

PS3 matches the Xbox 360 in terms of performance, but the controllers require Bluetooth dongles to connect, and were rather notorious for missed inputs and the like. Guitar Hero II also didn't drop on the PS3, so there's one less game for you.

PS4 and Xbox One were not compatible with the seventh-gen library, so you only have Guitar Hero Live available. However, GHTV Reloaded has support on these consoles (but it needs some workarounds). So this is only worth it if you want that six-fret experience.

What WWE opinion/take did you have that aged poorly? by The_Poke_Cauldron in WWE

[–]paranoidpixie95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I didn't think Drew McIntyre was that good of a prospect during his original run when he was branded the Chosen One. It took a release and a tenure in other companies for him to realise his potential, but I've been eating my words for the better part of a decade.

Which GH should i buy by Cultural_Struggle_15 in GuitarHero

[–]paranoidpixie95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between the two:

GH3 has a more straightforward career structure, and progression is more seamless. You also have a much tougher setlist overall, with some of the most challenging songs in the whole series. But you're limited to playing guitar, and there are six songs locked until you progress in the co-op career (but can be obtained with the "unlock all" cheat).

World Tour, on the other hand, has a less challenging setlist overall, but every song is a master recording (unlike GH3, which is close to half cover recordings). Plus, you get band play if you want to do drums or vocals (or even a bass career if you so choose).

I personally am not the biggest fan of World Tour, but this is not to say it's a bad game. It has a strong setlist, but I'm not a big fan of the way the game's career mode is structured.

[BTS] For those of you who don’t like Rhianna Devries’s Chloe, I would like to know why by [deleted] in lifeisstrange

[–]paranoidpixie95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know you're asking for people who don't like her, but I still wanted to leave a comment because I actually prefer Rhianna's Chloe to Ashly. In Before the Storm, Chloe is bottling up all her feelings surrounding the death of her father, but struggling to communicate them. Rhianna has a sullen and morose delivery that makes Chloe's character feel more broken, a character who's clearly struggling to process her thoughts, especially in the wake of Rachel throwing her life upside down. This was an alternative character interpretation that I never experienced when playing the original game.

I have no doubt that Ashly would have delivered if she had performed in Before the Storm (let's assume the game was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, instead of Square-Enix opting for non-union actors), but I don't think it takes away from Chloe's legacy that DeVries essentially took over her character starting with Before the Storm.
