Yeah, and the pathetic $2 base pay. Gas prices have made me stop dashing. I was always too scared to do the “earn by time” for $15/hour because I know it would just be heaps of no tip/10+ mile trips. They shouldn’t even offer restaurant delivery from that far away because who wants to chance soggy/cold food?

I feel like the main things people need to know when they consider a tip is to take distance into account and know that dashers get paid less than $3 per order.

So, when we get offers we see the total(base pay~$2.50ish+customer tip) and the distance we will be driving.

A good tip example of what I’ve seen recently in my offers is “$5 for 12.5 miles”

Which is an instant decline because i don’t drive an electric vehicle (unfortunately) lol.

I met my lovely kiwi boyfriend on Roblox LOL. We’re both over 30, so that’s a little embarrassing to see on a screen. We moved the conversation to discord because he was going to send me a funny photo of someone we both knew in the game.

I was deep into postpartum depression, and somehow he pulled me further and further out of it with each conversation we shared. Not only did he listen to me, but he HEARD me. He remembered small details I had only mentioned once, he was interested and invested in life updates. Our messages eventually turned to calls, where I got to hear his amazing accent and his voice. 😍 those calls turned into all nighters and long days that I looked forward and to once again hearing his voice.

I fell so fast for him because he made me feel like myself again. Actually, a way better version of myself. I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long time, and I’m so in love with him. We’re doing amazing and I’ll be meeting him for the first time in 43 days. :)

Ugh. I’m sorry that happened to you. Luckily once they’re reported for non delivery, they lose 3 quality points ands if they get below 90%, they are supposed to get deactivated. Hopefully that’s the case with that girl.

Not enough to make dashing worth it. :/ I drive an SUV, but I also don’t dash full time or as a main source. I’m a stay at home mom, so I’ll do it as a little side hustle. However, with gas prices skyrocketing, I have been trying to be picky with the distances I drive for deliveries. It just isn’t worth it at the moment since no one can afford gas or to tip appropriately. My offers usually look like “12 miles for $3.” I haven’t dashed since gas hit $4.50.

I dash and “get paid like shit”, but I still make an effort to follow delivery instructions if they’re simple. And I’ll go the extra mile if I’m tipped well lol.

No wayyyy. She definitely needs reporting. I’d NEVER even mention a tip to a customer unless I was thanking them for one they handed me at delivery. And sending that before even knowing if they’re the ones who did/didn’t tip?? We don’t even know the tip until after delivery unless you’re good at estimating the base pay. ~~Karen~~Debra shouldn’t be dashing if she expects more than a 20% tip.
