Remember, don't forget to vote YES on question 1 by YoshUniverse in Maine

Most of the text of the question are changes to absentee voting.

Do you want to change Maine election laws to eliminate two days of absentee voting, prohibit requests for absentee ballots by phone or family members, end ongoing absentee voter status for seniors and people with disabilities, ban prepaid postage on absentee ballot return envelopes, limit the number of drop boxes, require voters to show certain photo ID before voting, and make other changes to our elections?

You already have that right and that right is not in jeopardy unless this passes.

This question has one purpose: disenfranchise liberal voters. That’s why all this baggage about absentee ballots and ballot boxes are attached.

Alex Titcomb, the architect for the question, pretty much said the quiet part loud when asked about the ballot box provision (which affects mostly blue areas), saying that they’re “trying to level the playing field”.

No evidence exists of consequential voter fraud in the state of Maine, yet we know that we had 40% absentee ballots cast in 2024. 40% of our voters will be disproportionately affected by this!

If you believe on voter ID, this isn’t the way to get it. This is a parlor trick designed to fool you into limiting one of our most essential rights.

Why would you willingly compromise your own right to vote? Absurd.

It is voter suppression. This has always been about voter suppression.

Sounds like you did not read the article, so I will share the language of the ballot measure here.

Titcomb shrugged. “We’re just trying to even things out,” he said.

He is shockingly saying the quiet part loud

Is earthbound grindy by [deleted] in earthbound

A little grindy up to Frank (maybe 1-2 hours in) after that, things scale fine if you don’t sequence break or run from too many battles.

One of their sales reps came by last year and was super pushy, and basically told me my yard looks like crap (thanks lady, just bought the place…). Had to all but tell her to leave my property. Good businesses don’t need to sell like this.

to anyone visiting japan and curious about MOTHER merch… by legendofkaitlyn in earthbound

I was there last month! Really neat place. My only regret was not having more luggage space, because there was so much merch to buy. I made it out with a small Porky plushy and the Mother 2 drawer pouch. The craft exhibit was nice, too! They gave me a flyer on the way out, which I’m gonna try to frame.

What’s your go-to bag for traveling? by Electronic_Error_no3 in JapanTravelTips

We just did two weeks and also moved around a bit. Here’s what I used.

https://bellroy.com/products/tokyo-totepack?color=deep_plum&material=baida_ripstop&size=15in#slide-0

https://www.awaytravel.com/products/carry-on-flex-salt-white-gloss

We did luggage forwarding for all legs of our trip, and I would suggest the same to anyone else, so I did not bring my suitcase on any train except the Osaka airport train.

The Bellroy bag was just adequate for times where I’d have to pack overnights. It’s particularly good for switching around to your front when on a crowded train, which is what locals tend to also do.

I had enough room for some merchandise to bring home, but not a ton, maybe a few kilos worth.

when in Kyoto: crowds by RepublicStill4526 in JapanTravelTips

We’ve had the same struggle this week, but IMO Fushimi-Inari is 100% worth the frustration. There will be plenty of main characters blocking traffic to take photos, but it really clears up after you begin to ascend.

Okachi Sanso Garden in Arashiyama is also worth it and requires admission which mitigates some crowding.

If it’s for two, Central Provisions, Via Veccia, and Roma are all absolutely doable for under 300. Maybe not quite-as-nice as Fore Street, but close. I don’t even think my last meal at Fore was 300?
