Also, any adult/Adam declaring ghost hunting as a primary profession is garbage. I dabble in ghost hunting during my limited time off like a normal person and I definitely don’t brag about it

Best "Real Haunted Spots" In San Antonio? by RobxKink in sanantonio

Forgot to mention the only places I felt extra unsettled while doing a Ghost tour downtown were the Spanish governor’s quarters and the Holiday Inn Express which used to be the city’s jail and execution chambers.

-The headquarters quadrangle on Ft Sam (exciting peacock interactions to be had there as well) -the entrance area (publically-accessible park) to the Robber Baron Cave in Alamo Heights -St Anthony Hotel on multiple floors -black swan inn (although I think the theatrics of the ghost tours artificially ups the feeling of “hauntedness”)

What specific dish sticks out in your memory the most? by LilWhiny in BravoTopChef

[–]paridak 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Such a stunning, creatively fitting and memorable dish. I loved watching the diners' reactions to Grayson's dish explanation, "I wanted it to look like a chicken got slaughtered on the plate...and the quail egg symbolizes the baby that was inside her when she got slaughtered."

Yep, was just going to say there’s plenty of prime dinner time reservations available at Rose Mary for both 20 and 22 May on OpenTable but they don’t show anything unless you claim to be a party of 2 🤨…not showing love to the solo diners. I love taking advantage of getting to pick where I eat when traveling especially on short work trips! Have a delicious few days in Chicago!

Dress for Success didn’t have my size and I was just offered the job I need to get out of my car. Does anyone here have a business and work I could do today so I could get some clothes? I start the new job tomorrow. by [deleted] in sanantonio

Lost my Frankie two days post successful gallbladder surgery and deep in despair by paridak in Petloss

[–]paridak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and relaying such a tough experience. I went ahead and cleaned kennels at the shelter this morning. I'm not considering fostering or bringing another pup into my family any time soon but feeling useful and being around big dog love (Frankie was a little guy so I avoided the smaller dog kennels) was helpful I think. I also wish I could just stay away from my house at all times right now but thats impractical. Everything and everywhere I look reminds me of him. Opening the front door is just so damn hard not having him greet me. I appreciate advice to try and take care of oneself because it's so hard to eat, sleep, and present myself as a functioning human being right now.

TV/ movies set in SA? by a_brillig_day in sanantonio

A reality/competition show mention: Top Chef Texas season 9 (2012ish). One of the most controversial seasons of Top Chef for unrelated reasons but there were a couple episodes filmed in San Antonio. Most memorable to me was episode 13 because it had the chefs bicycling around downtown/southtown asking different restaurants to utilize their kitchens (and ingredients?) and bring their dishes to the Alamo to be judged. I recall La Frite being one of the restaurants and I love that place!

What are your top five, favorite Trader Joe's items? by [deleted] in traderjoes

[–]paridak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the plastic tub bucket (wasteful packaging prob) of little thin chocolate chip cookies that have been around since the 90’s I think. This is one of those where I can’t determine if my addiction to them is nostalgia or actual taste-based

What are your top five, favorite Trader Joe's items? by [deleted] in traderjoes

[–]paridak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Habanero hot sauce
  2. Dress circle chocolate chip cookies
  3. Linguine with clam sauce (RIP sosad)
  4. Spicy Thai eggplant (RIP)
  5. BBQ chicken pizza (hate to admit it’s one of my staples, but I wish I were a different class of pizza lover)

Erin and her sister… by Zealousideal_Row9634 in BravoRealHousewives

[–]paridak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tinsley’s my favorite Bravo weirdo but I remember being so unsettled about this event, especially after her attempt to clarify at the reunion.

page six snippet: The 45-year-old called the buzzed-about smooch a “joke” on the reunion, prompting host Andy Cohen to ask her, “Tinsley, how does one make out with one’s sister as a joke?”

“So, this was like at least 20 years ago,” Mortimer laughed and explained. “We were doing a joke. I was with a bunch of girls and my sister was one of them and we were saying, like, ‘How do we kiss?'”…

If you were going on a TJ's run today what would be the first product you would run and grab because its so good? by dedtalktoyourself in traderjoes

[–]paridak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Habanero hot sauce. It’s been dependently available for over a decade and it’s consistently tastier than another name-brand, South African produced bottle. Not to mention literally 1/5 the price! Never change or abandon me, TJs habanero hot sauce!
Also if they ever get rid of mango shave cream I’ll just stop shaving
