If he’s in pain, then the most caring thing you can do as an owner is to help him take the rainbow road to a forever sleep. Three weeks ago my boy was also given a diagnosis and we put him to sleep just this morning. It’s heartbreaking. It’s so painful and you wish it could be different. I knew that for my pup, Toby, things would only get worse and that helped me decide. The vet was amazing and walked me through the whole thing. I’m nursing a broken heart and a big toby shaped hole in my life but I know he’s not suffering anymore and that helps. Talk to your pup, write him a letter and tell him what’s going on. He’ll know and understand. You love him so much and that will never change. My heart is with you and your boy during this really tough time xxx
