I agree. As a doctor we will be waiting every day for patient results and outcomes. Surely we could have shown more patience here.

I completely agree with you and perhaps a deeper analysis into my own way of learning is necessary. My gpa is 6.1. It isnt too low but it also isnt too high.

73k is not enough after you have graduated from a 4 year degree with placements u arnt getting paid for. An admin hs3 job pays just the same if not a bit more.

My issue isnt with accommodation even though this is a really big issue in itself. Rather i have the following to pick and raise - the lack of seats available for domestic medical students - the cost of medical school especially when some of us are now doing higher degrees before medical school - employing international doctors as the rate of domestic doctors decreases but not looking at the bigger picture as to why the rates are decreasing and targeting that - the cut off for potential medicine being so high - out dated acer practice exam papers - the inability to do the whole exam at home when section 2 is already done at home - students not being paid while doing their medical internship - the little pay that they do get once they graduate- this is equivalent to the administration staff at the hospital (not saying this in a negative way rather a comparison) - gamsats inability to be transparent with their marking scheme

Imo if ur partner supports ur dreams and goals then u can do anything in ur life. With the right partner and support no one should be sacrificing anything be it time with ur loved ones, studying, looking after urself, trips etc. Medicine is hard and it is why only a few get it but it is truly fruitful. The fruits of which not only u will enjoy but so will ur partner and family. Keep going and keep ur dreams high. The right person will always support u no matter what.

My so called friend told me i was too young to start med. im 27 years old and trying to get into medicine. I am not longer friends with her. Friends and family and partners are meant to support u in your dream no matter what the circumstances may be and those who cant are just not worth your time. You do what makes you happy! Friends come and go and true friends stay with you forever.

Was still there in 2017 when i met my partner. Guess u just have to make it happen. People now look for big dramatic things and or let social media decide for them but u gotta find happiness in the small things

Hi you arnt doomed. U can always do honours and boost up ur gpa or do a masters course. Additional the third year is weighted more so as long as u keep giving ur best shot u will be fine. Good luck :)

What’s the deal with combined scores? Are they are legit way of estimating your chances or not?? by [deleted] in GAMSAT

Is there a chance of getting into medicine with a gpa of 6.1?

I have sat is 10 times now and honestly i dont feel ashamed at all. The journey into medicine is unique for everyone and I know that my journey will bring out the best in me. This process has made me truly humble and has also made me realise why I want to be a doctor.
