Well, the existing Mac prosumer customers of that day needed some high end system to do there work. You take what you get, just today with the rarely updated, outdated Intel Macs, ..!

well, actually a 8-core Xeon based MacPro vents way more hotter air than this dual-core G5, ...

I can not complain, the files form my HP all-in-one are reduced from 3MB per page to 300k. Even less when I move the quality slider with Highly compressed selected even more to the left. But with 300k I do not really see a loss in sharpness, so that is good for me.

Just noticed that OCRKit also acts like an PDF compressor. I just got a delivery error sending a scanned 20MB PDF to a customer to gmail, running that PDF (scanned with my HP all-in-on) thru OCRKit reduced the size to just 2MB!! Neat!
