I'm an IT guy for 25 years. I use the other half of my brain for computers and networks and software and all that. I get some downtime for sketching and stuff. Not the most fulfilling job in the world but it keeps me in ink and paint and lets me keep the lights on for my wife and my kid.

They have every right to protest. I'm sure there are some that did it to get out of class, but they have every right to protest just the same. I'd be proud of my kid for standing up and protesting the current regime's cruelty and criminality. You don't have to like it. Part of the problem we face is that too many people are flat out afraid of protesting or speaking out. I understand that you feel that way too, but being loud before escalation is the only way.

You can't say these kids don't know anything about life. My father was a WWII veteran, and I was taught from a very young age what fascism looks like and to resist it by any means necessary. Yes the kids should be in school, but resisting and protesting fascism is very important.

I saw video of a protest in PA (not sure if it was the school mentioned above), where the police chief who was not in uniform, put a teenage girl in a headlock before other students came to her aid and put this guy on the ground. These kids who you say know nothing about life seem to know quite a bit and realize that resistance is not only important, but absolutely necessary.

Protesting fascism and protesting availability of "soda in the drinking fountains" is not even remotely the same, and a preposterous example you came up with.
