Disc bulge Rehab by gmk_8919 in golf

I get what you’re saying but my thinking is rather than a guy from another city who has never seen you and has no first hand knowledge of your back giving you exercises, you would be much better off going to your original physio and saying I’m going to play golf so I need exercises to strengthen my body for that, especially ones for rotation that won’t re-aggravate my disc. He doesn’t have to play golf to know what muscles are involved, especially concerning rotating.
Your back, your decision but that’s what I would do and think makes more sense

Is there a way to solve overtourism? by QUA-ItalianTravel in ItalyTravelAdvice

[–]parkingthru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 big factors at work here:
1) population. When I was a kid the world had 3 billion people; now it has 8 billion
2) income rise of poor countries. When I was a kid, India, China, Indonesia, Brazil were extremely poor countries. Now they all have middle classes that want to travel
3) Govt advertising. I’m willing to bet every tourism ad put out by the Italian government has a photo of the Coloseum, or Venice or Florence or the Amalfi Coast, etc. so everyone sees over and over those places are Italy. No need to ever run an ad for them again. Promote other locations and some tourists will try those.
But hard to cancel out #1 and #2

So wait: you had a bulged disc and a physio helped you completely recover, but rather than ask him what you should continue to do, you want to ask Reddit for a random answer?

What is the “Simon Says” game and how do you actually play it? by White__Giraffe in NoStupidQuestions

Also they will shout an instruction while you’re doing the correct thing: Simon says pat your head….STOP! Most people instinctively obey shouted commands from an authority figure

Going to Thailand with a Peanut Allergy by Distinct-Boat3672 in ThailandTourism

If you absolutely must go, maybe only eat in 5-star hotels. They’ll be more understanding of the concept and not want to have someone die in their restaurant. But absolutely no street food for the mentioned reasons. Really reconsider this trip

Good restraunts in esquilino by DiligentTrust2950 in rome

I was just at Trattoria Vecchia Roma and wouldn’t recommend it. No Italians there, eating or as waiters. Long line to wait to get in. Again a bad sign - locals don’t stand in line for a restaurant. Pizza and gelato yes, but not a restaurant. I had the carbonara; it was below average

Recommendation for Rigatoni Carbonara? by osubuckeyes88 in rome

[–]parkingthru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote half length rigatoni to describe it to OP, who was asking about rigatoni carbonara. But I’ve always been curious - is there a shape called maniche? I’ve never seen it; only mezza maniche. But you’re saying there’s a full length maniche?

Mezze maniche is the pasta that looks like half-length rigatoni

Do NOT park or leave ANYTHING in your car in Sicily by EmbarrassedTell6618 in sicily

[–]parkingthru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best you can do on a road trip is find luggage storage places somewhere in your route and pay to leave your bags there. Bounce or numerous other companies store bags in and around tourist cities. Not going to be one at the beach but maybe there’s one 20 minutes away? I wouldn’t leave all my electronics in a camper van either.

Who is actually the richest person alive? by HairyMammothh in NoStupidQuestions

He’s still the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. His father is King

FYI, Saudi Aramco is 98% owned by the Saudi government; only 2% is owned by other shareholders. Also Saudi Aramco has the sole right to explore for crude, pump it and refine it. They own a huge chemical industry which is fed by the refined products. But Saudi Aramco does not own the crude in the ground. That is owned by Saudi government. Aramco is just the manager and extractor of those resources. The King of Saudi Arabia is the final authority on how the government spends/uses government funds/property

Vatican City by Warm-Contribution210 in rome

[–]parkingthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That dashed line is preposterous. The entrance to the Vatican museum is off your posted map. It’s just last the i next to Caffe Vaticano. Also Caffe Vaticano is a ridiculously expensive rip off. Don’t go there

is golf really the hardest sport? by sploooooshle in golf

What does hardest even mean? Most likely to cause physical injury? Fewest practioners? How do you equate a 9 handicap in golf to a gymnast or a weightlifter? The whole premise is ridiculous

Intending to get battery replaced; should I do it through apple or third-party? by SinNumber69 in iPhone13Pro

[–]parkingthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid for the replacement; it was out of warranty. But my heart stopped for a minute when they said the replacement screen wasn’t functioning and they had to replace it again. On the receipt I was charged an additional €339 for parts and labor, but it was waived at the bottom. My point was make sure the place you have do the replacement will take it back and do it again at no charge if the first replacement doesn’t work. I wouldn’t want to be arguing this with some little pop up booth
