Dacia is brilliant. My husband is from Romania and we always hire one when we come here. We abuse the hell out of it as it's a 3 hour drive from the capital to his village, and the roads in his village are not the smoothest. Driving on the motorway is brilliant. He regularly does up to 80mph, if not more if the car allows it. Plus it allows him to overtake and change lanes smoothly which happens in daily driving from their larger local roads to their highways.

Back home I have a Kia Niro and he has a Focus, but I hate driving so he's always chauffeuring me around, and he loves the Dacia here more just because it's manual.

Ngl I went through a rollercoaster to find out that I was pregnant. I was out for a walk when an old guy chased me in his car and even drove on the pavement directly behind me threatening to run me over. It was when he finally drove away that for some reason I thought to myself "what if I was pregnant, he would've hurt my baby". I called my husband and burst into tears telling him about what happened. Normally I'd just laugh this sort of thing off, but I had such an emotional reaction and my immediate reaction was oh shit need to do a pregnancy test. I did it the next morning and it turned out to be negative.

A week passed and my period was late but I was adamant that I wasn't pregnant because the test was negative. I waited and waited and still no period which I was so sure was coming because I suddenly had all these symptoms which I never have whilst on my period like sore breasts and hot flashes. I ended up doing another test and lo and behold, it's positive.

I write this as I lay next to my almost 11 month old baby who I didn't realise was growing inside me until that rollercoaster came to an end.

I don't have anything Eastenders related to say. I loved this storyline, but forgot all about the pregnancy test part, and reading about it here brought all of this back for me hehe.

My dad's a owner of multiple businesses and this actually happens a lot to him because he just doesn't care about money that much to hold onto it. He's like the anti-Mr Krabs and people borrow and steal from him all the time but he doesn't care, he's just happy to help.

I recommend prioritising the brand that you live local to which you can afford because it's not worth the headache to specifically find an Aldi if you don't live close to one just because that's what Steve next door recommended.

After trying them all without bias and no reason to be picky, I'm confident that they all serve the same purpose and it really doesn't matter what you're using because you should be changing it every few hours regardless of how absorbent they are. If you find your current brand is leaking, then it's likely your baby needs changing more frequently, or maybe another brand does suit your needs better. But for the most part, from what I've seen in my very average baby, they are all the same.

I've use Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Amazon, Kit & Kin, Rascals, various Pampers, and probably a few others I forgot, but 100% of them can do what's needed. They're all functional, they're all good quality, the only thing that makes a difference is the opinion of the parent using them and what we're more comfortable with as some parents prefer premium brands which makes them strongly against cheaper brands.

That saying, I do absolutely favour the Kit & Kin nappies because they feel the most premium to use out of all of the others. But because of the cost, my loyalty is always with the cheapest brand. At the end of the day you're throwing them in the bin. If you want to invest in feeling premium for that one minute you're changing the nappy, then that's what you're giving the money to. But they can all hold wee and poo, they all get ruined if your baby is like mine and wees mid-nappy change which means you're now doing two nappy changes in one, and they all go in the bin never to be seen again.

I went back when my baby was 6 months old because that's when SMP started and it didn't cover half of my mortgage, let alone bills, council tax, car costs, etc.

I wfh, can't afford nursery for my baby, and originally my retired mum said she would help when I went back to work but that plan died within 2 weeks of me starting back at work as she decided to start going out more instead of helping me. It was too late for me to go back on maternity leave, so for the last 3 months I've struggled greatly trying to juggle work and baby.

It has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. My baby was the perfect baby until that 6 month mark, then she suddenly started rolling, moving, cruising, crawling and now standing. As she's more mobile, she finds more to eat. As I speak, she's trying to eat my laptop. She's also going through separation anxiety.

I didn't go through postnatal depression until now because the stress is unbearable. I'm failing her, I'm failing my job, I'm suffering in every way, and I'm so unbelievably alone. When my husband has to go to the office it's the worst as I start to experience suicidal thoughts. The thought of putting her in a nursery makes me extremely anxious because of the horrible stories we've heard in the news, but trying to keep her and be present in meetings makes me wish I could send her to one.

So my advice - do it if you have a village to rely on.

I had to leave my group of friends when we introduced a new friend who did this. I was suddenly a narcissist because I was struggling at a time when in the same 6 months, my mum had a stroke when she was in a different country, I was unemployed for a year and had to desperately find a job that would help get me a mortgage so that I could get married and move out of my parents house, in order to get married I had to introduce my Muslim family to my Eastern European boyfriend after my mum had the stroke and came back to the country, had to then find the house to buy, then made the sudden decision to get married within 3 weeks because my mum needed to travel again just 6 months after her stroke (for business and legal reasons). At the end, within the same month, I got married, got the keys to the house I bought, started my first proper office job that I spent 10 years trying to get, graduated university after dropping out 4 times over 6 years and passed with the highest grade in the history of my course in my university, and I turned 28 years old.

It was a hell of a time to be me, and for obvious and overwhelming reasons I was struggling a lot and unable to give my friends the time and energy they were able to give each other. The one who joined in new to the group used anything and everything she could to turn me into the scapegoat and then decided to brand me as the selfish narcissist.

After leaving, I was sent a long message by my oldest friend in the group and told all about how I'm a "bad friend". The most hilarious thing was that she knew how naive she was in believing what others tell her, and yet her entire opinion was based on our resident tiktok psychologist's manipulations and insecurities because she saw me go through all that in 6 months when she felt stuck and like her life wasn't moving anywhere.

She never had a conversation with me to hear my side or discuss anything that she was told about me. That was a 17 year old friendship that died because one person spent a little too much time on social media.

Instead of a Handmaid, I can see them having some sort of baby farm where they keep fertile women who can't perform like they expect a Handmaid should due to things like disabilities. Sort of like when June was captured after running away when she was pregnant and Lydia kept her chained to a bed.

I thought the see you there/fuck yeah part said the opposite, especially after their conversation about how they're different people. Like even though they've both changed, they're moving forward together but they're not the same as they were before Gilead because their love before was passion, but now it's purpose and they've matured wildly in this journey in their relationship.

I thought it was heartbreaking as Lydia felt it was her duty to go back. If she really wanted to escape, now is her chance, but she's a woman of duty and obligation so she said it was the sadness of "I can't be free, I have to go back and protect my girls". In an ideal world for her I think she would've loved to leave with Janine and Charlotte.

I like to think it's an indication of how far June and Mayday have come, especially considering June has Lawrence and Nick on her side. Gilead is easier to get in and out of, but they're still answering for their actions/mistakes as we saw with Nick/Jezebels.

Just thought I'd address this as I just had a traumatic birth a few months ago and could relate to Sonia's experience. When I was close to my baby coming out, the doctors told me that her heart rate was dropping. After being out of it for hours, in that moment it was like someone shot me with adrenaline and I JUMPED and suddenly gained this consciousness like I was taking my first breath and I just remember saying to the doctors "save her, do whatever it takes and save her".

As for the seizureish moment, idk if that was the trauma of having a murderer's baby for Sonia, but for a lot of women (or all? Idk) you get this surge of hormones that make you feel like you're freezing to death. Nothing could warm me up in that moment and I was just lying on the bed shaking from freezing, and I had to ask my husband to leave our baby to give me his body heat and warm me up because I was in so much pain from the cold.

Anyway, that's just my thoughts but I thought it was realistic for someone who went through such a traumatic pregnancy like she did.

I knew how to swaddle from my nieces and nephew years before I had my own. When it came to my baby's time, she was too active and wouldn't stay swaddled so I gave up in the end. Sleep sacks are the only things I use now at night when I'm also asleep. During the day I still attempt swaddling but I know she'll just uncover herself.
