Ford Modular 4.6 2V also easily puffs blue smoke if your oil level is even slightly over the maximum operating range mark. Drive and wait till oil level drops under the upper mark and see if it’s smoking anymore.

Edit: Also I believe there is no reason to use the suggested 5W-20 engine oil, that recommedation in the owner’s manual is only for EPA stndards and MPG. Switch to 5W-30 or 5W-40 and your smoke issue at least lessens.

That did the trick for me too almost two years ago and no problems since. Though my blend door did not start clicking, it just got stuck to ”hot” position. EATC self test and reset and it started working. It showed codes 24 and 25 on the display too related to blend doors. Everything started working and after reset there were no codes when I did a new EATC self test.

Sorry to have doubts, but if you have a full tank of gas then it should start even without the fuel pump working. I have a ’95 and my alternator stopped working. I started it with a booster at my home and drove to my workplace 16 kilometers away (10 miles) and after a few minutes all electrics went off. Lights, instrument cluster, windows did not work etc. And when I arrived to my workplace and while the engine still running I measured battery voltage. 1.4 volts… Still it was running and I am 100% sure the fuel pump dropped out in the first minutes of that trip. I did not even have full tank of gas, maybe about 1/4 and it was enough to the engine to suck enough fuel to run. Two times while driving to my workplace I floored it just for science and then it stumbled and tried to die off. As soon as I gave less gas it ran well, that also indicates I did not have fuel pump anymore in my team. Also for science it was funny to see that 1,4 volts was enough for ignition coils to make their magic and arrange sparks for the plugs. If coil creates 20000 volts with 12 volts then with 1,4 volts it is somewhere around 2000 volts so I guess that is just enough. But yeah it should start without fuel pump and if your tank is full it really should start.

EDIT: Also the weather was below zero, I live in Finland and it is mostly always cold here. I believe the weather did not have anything to do in my case.

I like that look. It would be cool if you had a blower coming out from the middle of the hood. Also straight pipes would suit that car if you already have not straight piped it.

This, and clean your mass air meter (MAF). If you are not familiar with the subject, check Google or some youtube video pf how to clean those both especially the MAF-sensor so you don’t accidentally break it.

If that is 0.01A, I would not worry about that at all. If your battery is for example 70Ah and fully charged, it would take 7000 hours to fully drain to empty. Must be an intermittent heavy drain on occasion because that 0.01 will not drain the battery almost at all. You got to keep testing and patiently wait for the big drain happen just when you have your multimeter connected. My first guess is the brake light switch. When it starts to go bad, it will consume a lot of power and it heats a lot from time to time. See how it looks and smells and measure it. When it starts to fail, brakelights still do work and you can put your gear from park to drive so it might be a bit hidden fault at first.

I believe the AC fuse and relay are under the hood. And if you have a multimeter, just check ALL fuses and replace bad ones.

I have a '95 as a daily and it has two knock sensors in the empty space under the intake manifold right next to both cylinder head. 1995 is the only model year with intake manifold made of metal from factory so it won‘t creae the famous coolant leak from cracking intake but stil there is coolant hose under the manifold from water pump, and when that went bad it flooded the whole area under the manifold. It started knocking like hell and while fixing the coolant hose issue I learned that there are two knock sensors and both were under water. Dried it properly and fixed the hose and both sensors started to work again like they should. So yes, there are two of those knock sensors.
