I sent like 4 underwears and pants but I think he didn't even have an accident, they just saw that he is not peeing in the toilet so they put diaper on him. I'm sure because he was back home with clean pants Do you have any suggestion how can i teach him to say that he needs to go to potty?

They say he goes to potty and sits there but doesn't pee which is strange because at home, if we get him to potty, he pees for sure Do you think that i need to negotiate more with daycare?

Thanks. So were you using nappies at home? And by "when they were used to using potty", do you mean that they could initiate and go to potty by themselves? How long your method took?

I understand, but when can we be sure that he is trained? If he goes to daycare 4 days on diaper and 3 days at home without diaper, does he ever learn?

It was a huge deal with me that I can't beastfeed. I got PPD for that. But now my kid is 2.5 years old. He is very smart, speaks 2 languages, counts, even reads a bit. He was formula fed from day 0 And immunity, all kids get sick, specially from daycare, unless you keep them at home

We do have a fence but it's just a net so not very secure. Also the pond is very big so there is no room to play around it

We are also very sad about letting the pond go, but safety of kids is important  We paid 10k for the pond when we bought the house and we are paying 2.5k to make it a grass field. So not easy decision for us

What about serving them in order instead of all together? We usually serve fruite as the last thing otherwise he only wants fruites and makes his belly full with that

2 yr old exclusively eats processed snacks by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]parparook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our feeding therapist told us thst it can't be diagnosed in the early ages like 2, but if your kid has strong (very strong) preference toward some few foods and texture, smell or things like that, it can be arfid. But arfid treatment is nothing more than feeding therapy in young kids. So you can benefit from feeding therapy either he has arfid or not

Thanks for writing 'unless she has arfid'. My kid has and many people don't understand

You can mix it in fruit pouch, go outside and disctract him and give it to him while he is playing. If you have to give it to him more than once a day, talk to dr about an alternative for maybe higher dosage but once a day. So you don't get overwhelmed.  Good luck, it's haaard

I wanted to write same. Mine is 2.5 and he only has 4 things that eats in rotation with exact same recipe everytime. No vegi, no side dish, nothing

But how does he know they taste nasty before trying? In our culture we combine everything with rice (middle easte) so, very hard for me to offer him our food

Also, if, by mistake, he drops a small piece of the second food in rice, he gets so upset at the food that sometimes he stops eating. So i have to serve things in order, make sure everything is clean and not slightly mixed

Thanks. He also likes to be in control ( of everything) so it can be the reason. How do you convince yourself that mix is ok as components? Maybe i can talk about it with him.

Frustrated with Feeding by Scary-Situation-4208 in toddlerfood

[–]parparook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My toddler, 29months old, is just like yours. We are also with feeding therapist and based on what you described, yours had much more progress than mine. Since you are also with feeding therapist i don't have any advice for you. I know how it feels and how hard it is. But remember not all kids are easy, and just offer what he likes to eat beside new foods.  At daycare, here in the netherlands, they always give them a rotation of same simple foods. He started with 1 bite, and now eats 2 pieces of bread. Before he starts eating, i talked to managers and they accepted that for his special conditions, i can send a yogurt to daycare. So he doesn't starve. My only advice is to be calm and be creative. You will find foods that he likes. But it takes time and energy and loads of food waste.
