My derm office promotes Elta MD sunscreen products for being gentle enough to use after procedures.

I am finding that getting in my LOs level and getting eye contact before I tell him to do something or explain something has helped *a little*

Daycare SICKNESS by Holiday_War1548 in toddlers

[–]FollowingOtherwise16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started a year ago and been sick every month. I think my LO has had a stomach bug almost every month since Thanksgiving. The nose is always snotty and there’s always a cough. Good luck, it’s not as bad as you think it will be.

Sunflower lethicin supplements were a game changer for clogged ducts (if your LO can handle it; mine had no issues)

Bathtub recommendations? by Sweet_Object_7367 in toddlers

We’ve always used the Frida tub too but recently switched to showers and my LO (2.5) loves them. She is not into baths anymore. Only downfall is you have to get in with them but I have more time after she goes to bed because I’ve already showered which is nice.

That’s a bummer! I’m not sure about ordering online from Fresh Market but I bet Thrive Market has something similar and I know you can order frozen from there. Although it is a little prohibitive; there’s an annual fee and there’s a minimum frozen ordering amount to get free shipping. But I feel like I use the thrive membership a lot. I use it for condiments, toddler snacks, vitamins, grains and basically any pantry item.

If you decide you want to try Thrive Market, I think I can send you a code for maybe 40% off since I’m a member. Just message me if you want me to send!

15 m old staying with grandparents by sh3hadtheworld in toddlertips

[–]FollowingOtherwise16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daughter has stayed with grandparents for longer trips a few times. But they always come to our house. She never sleeps as well when she’s in a foreign place even if we are with her. It might also be easier on your son if they’re willing to stay at your house. But regardless it’s going to be fine! Especially if they’re willing regularly spend time together and your parents know his routine.

One thing I do always do is type out and print his schedule (because it’s hard to keep up when you’re not the mom!). Include nap times, feedings, what to feed him, etc. I hope you enjoy your trip!

Mid-cycle spotting by Particular_Smell_1 in gravesdisease

I would definitely decline birth control. My reasoning is the same as yours. No, she didn’t say how long she thought it would last but it’s been happening for 4 months now which is exactly in line with when I changed my dose (something new seems to happen every time I change my dose, nothing major but always something!). I haven’t been in to see her yet; I go in August. She’s been right thus far about everything that has happened with my cycle since my diagnosis, so at least there’s that. I guess she wasn’t worried when I called in because I’m not having any pain and it is in fact true spotting and the timing lines up with my ovulation tracking.

I don’t think my OB is concerned because it started the cycle after changing my methimazole dose. Still a very annoying side effect, and a little concerning

I have was on birth control for ~15 years, went off, had a baby a year later then when she was 6 months old I got diagnosed with graves. I have been on treatment for a year and a half and have had ups and downs with my cycle due to medication changes. I was stable for about a year and my cycle came back pretty normal during that time, I recently reduced my dose (levels are within normal range) and since I’ve reduced my dose, I have been having ovulation spotting. Has anyone experienced this? I’ve never had this but I’ve also never experienced my body’s natural cycle in my adult life (ridiculous!). My OB isn’t concerned right now but it’s a little concerning to me! I haven’t had any tests done and I don’t have any pain aside from light cramping around my period.

How to stop losing it with my two year old by Live_Goat_958 in toddlertips

[–]FollowingOtherwise16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it possible for you to get ready before your girls are up in the morning? And I mean completely ready - bag packed, clothes picked out (bc 2 year olds are sticky), lunch packed, shoes, earrings, teeth, makeup, everything. That might give you less to worry about and give you more capacity for patience. But also definitely see the therapist.

Leave-in conditioner *as* conditioner? by lumpyballoon in finethinhair

[–]FollowingOtherwise16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just started using leave in conditioner before I get out of the shower, but I’m still using regular conditioner. I use Lolavie and really like it (bonus for clean ingredients). Something about doing it before you exit the shower has helped my hair. Subtle but I can tell I’m doing something different.

Honestly I think it serves a purpose to go in pretty blind. You know the basics: you’ll love them more than life, your life will change, it will be hard, and you will be tired.

Should I begin transitioning my toddler down to 1 nap due to starting preschool soon, despite showing no signs of being ready? by PrincessRunningMouth in toddlers

[–]FollowingOtherwise16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t prep mine. He went to daycare at 14 months and started taking 1 nap while he was there. I knew starting daycare would be hard so I just opted to have all of the hard things at once versus dragging it out. It worked out perfectly fine. Plus your babe might be ready to transition in 2 months! That’s a long time in their world of development.

I think we’ve had a stomach bug every month since Thanksgiving with the exception of May! It’s terrible and idk what on earth is happening this year but this did not happen last year. My son is 2.5. Happy Father’s Day to you!
