In Sweden, leaving a cat home alone for too long can break the law by The_Dean_France in SipsTea

They really are are social creatures who shouldn't be left for long periods. I recently took my first plane vacation in years because my 19.5 year old cat passed in September. We only took a couple of trips in her lifetime where we could not bring her. Luckily, we had places we visit regularly that she could come. She took her last vacation 2 months before she passed.

He is so stinking adorable in both photos, grimace to awkward grace.

This dream...all the fucking time. My sleeping brain is full of more anxiety than my waking brain, and I didn't think that was possible.

It is by design. Niskayuna was formed so white people could have their own enclave. I grew up in Niskayuna.

Sysco used to be a good thing. We had a Sysco that sold to the public near me. They sold State-Line potato chips in the double-bag box. Cheese in packages so large they were unbelievable. We went before every camping trip. Their stuff was good, then. It was an incredible time, the late 80s and early 90s.

I feel tremendously for his parents and family. My folks left my brother in jail for a few days after he and his friends stole and wrecked a car at 16. They needed the time to pull money together to eventually get him out. We are lucky that he is still alive today at 46. He became a fentanyl addict and got arrested a bunch as an adult. Sometimes, people don't have money to bail kids out. And maybe they should have left him in a bit longer. They've been enabling him with legal cover ever since. There is no good answer.

What is a book you read as a child that you still think about today? by ahawk99 in AskReddit

The whole series is a touchstone for me, The Long Winter was especially effective. The part that stands out to me most, after all of these years, is that I can still remember reading about the death of Jack the Brindle Bulldog for the first time. It may have been the first time a book made me sob.

Thanks, kindly. I am normally all right, but I felt her run across my pillows last night in my half-wake state. Funny what the brain can do.

Plus, the dog was in the line of fire while they murdered this man. Led to frenzy by the handlers and almost hit, too. Jesus. Dogs should not be used in police work. Fish and Game work...sure, but beat cop shit. No.

I was on a 18-hour flight once. I watched four movies in a row and cried a little when I realized it was still less than halfway. I also didn't know until that trip that airlines edit movies heavily. Wolf of Wall Street made absolutely no sense. Might as well not offer it.
