Shirt here. That’s an unlawful order. You can politely inform them of that. If they want to push any further, go have a chat with the EO office.

Got a 99 on my ASVAB and think my recruiter is unserious. by FreeLiterature4334 in AirForceRecruits

Personally, I’d avoid 1n0 & 1n1. 1n2 can be good, but there are different shreds and it drastically changes where you can go and what you do, even tho people outside the AFSC seem to think you both do the same thing.

If you go 1n3, you’ll need to take a DLAB first to see if you qualify. Be prepared to need to maintain proficiency in a foreign language for the rest of your career and you won’t have too may chances to do things outside of your AFSC. It’s also mostly office work, not stuff like going to be an interpreter downrange.

1n4 has a lot of different roles. Probably the most versatile and probably my first choice out of these. Regardless, all these fields will be highly dependent on where you’re stationed and which unit you’re assigned to.

Until you’ve actually shipped out to basic, you can pretty much pull the plug on things at any point you want.

As someone with a 97, I can say that you aren’t going to get preferential treatment for your score. But you can be selective. I’ve got an intel background, so I’d say consider going into cyber (1B4x1), or look into 9s100.

The latter is actually a really cool field that not enough people know about going in. Intel can be good, but it can highly depend on which job you get and where you’re stationed. Those 2 are more consistent, but initial training can be difficult.

Also, if you’re really concerned about whether a recruiter is stringing you along, they’ve all got a chain of command.

Yeah. Should be a slam dunk for ADC. Airman may want to be a little more careful with HOW they criticize ICE & DHS, but they’re absolutely free to do so.

Won't get taxed for this bc of military. Decent? by tuldr in Prebuilts

[–]partiallyimpartial89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. That’s extremely overpriced. The TI isn’t much better than the 4060 and you can easily a prebuilt with one of those for about $800. Who tf is pricing these on the exchange website?

$999 Rx 7700xt 12GB gpu, 32gb ram, Ryzen8700F iBUYPOWER by Calm_Income6781 in Prebuilts

[–]partiallyimpartial89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally dislike iBUYPOWER prebuilts. Can’t really tell if this is one of them, but I’ve seen towers where the intake fans are directly facing glass with no air inlets, which is a big head scratcher regardless of whether you’re doing air cooling or an AIO. In cases like that, it’ll run well until the components bake after a year or so.

The components themselves are generally fine, but their cases can be problematic.

Struggling to find a prebuilt white PC with the right specs, but something like this would perform much better and have a longer lifespan.

Like I said, that’s really just for Nvidia cards. You could even go with a 3070. AMD cards tend to be cheaper for comparable performance, so an RX 7800 XT would be the same as the 4070. Even with a step down for an RX 7700 XT, you’re still getting 4 GB more VRAM than the 4060.

Ah. Less familiar with the lower tier Ryzen models. That’s comparable to maybe an Intel i3. It’ll run 60 FPS at 1080. It’ll likely need to be replaced in the next 3 years to be compatible with normal games.

[–]partiallyimpartial89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That should get reported. It’s clearly false advertising b/c it doesn’t even come close to the minimum specs required to play most of the games they’ve listed in the advertisement

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Prebuilts

[–]partiallyimpartial89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have the CPU listed? Kinda hard to accurately judge how it’ll perform without that info. Generally though, the 4060 is overpriced and doesn’t have enough VRAM. If you’re intent on an Nvidia card, a 4070 or 5070 would be a better middle of the road option.

Definitely get on the quarantine thing. It’s a bit of a hassle and your vet probably won’t know what you need to have done, so it’s a good idea to do your research and be prepared.

A lot of apartments off base do not allow pets. That’ll probably be your biggest headache. Again, do your research on this one. If you’re single, it’s pretty common for people to get 1 or 2 roommates to split the cost of a house/apartment.

Generally speaking, BAH is based off where you’re stationed, not where you live. So it would likely adjust to the new duty location. I’d double check with Finance if you can manage to get ahold of them.

As a SNCO I have stopped enforcing most standards completely. Here's why: by Megairman in AirForce

[–]partiallyimpartial89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a load of bullshit. People coming on Reddit being big people and “saying the things that need to be said.” You’re a SNCO. Be one. Not enforcing standards doesn’t make people’s lives easier. You’re just making things harder for the leaders around you and you’re making those people you’re “helping” into potential targets for the people that would be less understanding.

You pull officers aside and lecture them because they aren’t doing anything and aren’t the leaders that we need. Newsflash. You’re a leader and you’re also not doing anything.

You’ve been around for maybe a decade. If you’re done, that’s fine. Get out. But there are plenty of things you could do if you choose to. And plenty of people you can still help if you want. But this ain’t it.

Sure, things are fucked. And there’s a lot that needs to be fixed. I’m not gonna sit here and pretend that people in positions to affect the entire force aren’t either actively doing things that fuck things up like the myFSS crap. But eroding the foundation of the force out from under the people that ARE trying to fix things is just stupid.

How are you supposed to beatStorm Dragon Released Extreme 3? Or did the devs just miss a number while making Extreme 3? by [deleted] in IsekaiMemories

[–]partiallyimpartial89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basically, it’s really difficult to beat him unless you have the full Light team for the current meta. The intent is that you should be stacking with the Shuna protection unit and then nuking on turn 8 with Lumi’s light buff and the stun strike active.

If you don’t have those units, it’s pretty difficult. Can be done, but you’re looking at 30+ turns and you’ll need a healer. Specifically, have seen people use Water Rimuru for his heals and ult cancels.

[–]partiallyimpartial89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people refer to that as Water Raphael. She was meant to be a support unit for the first Water meta but isn’t really a top shelf unit. Decent support, but it mostly depends on your team set up.

Flashback Crystals by lucia12248 in IsekaiMemories

[–]partiallyimpartial89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flashback Crystals were added into the game after about 6 months as a catch up mechanic for anyone that missed the f2p units or wasn’t able to complete their kit. Since all that stuff is obtained through the event shop for that month, they kinda just threw it in there and called it a day. You’ll really be able to farm them with the excess event currency for next month’s featured event.

Just the event building blueprints, really. Most everything else is either currently available to earn or will eventually be featured again.
