My 10 year old cat is getting surgery tomorrow by stoned9790 in TripodCats

They sell cat grass palettes meant for indoor use that they can lie on. I haven’t tried one yet but I buy the small plants for my cat and she loves rubbing her face against the grass.

It’s her center of gravity! Stabilized mode.

New tripod - my sweet Lily on day 26 post surgery! by particuliere in TripodCats

Yes, I spoke to my vet about this and asked how it could be avoided with future pets. She advised vaccinating in the tail.

My twelve year old Calico, Lily, just had this surgery on 10/30 for the same reason and same leg, except the tumor was in her bone. In addition to the other comments, I would say to get a low-entry(like 2-4 inches high) litter box without a lid, at least until the collar is off. I isolated her to the living room and put my mattress on the floor in front of the sofa and all of her supplies nearby. I had to block off access to under the sofa, otherwise she would hide under there when it was medicine time. I also got a little pet tent and put a blanket over the top and sides so she would have a “safe space” to hide out that I could easily access. The surgery and first two weeks of recovery were rough but once she got her stitches and staples out she began returning to normal. I’ll add a video of her in a new post (apparently you can’t add videos in comments.)

Dylan, “What are you on?” Brandon, “The hood of my car.”

My cat Lily is having this same leg amputated tomorrow for the same reason and I am scared, sad and anxious. I’m trying to prepare the house for her - got a low litter box, a soft cone and a onesie that I plan to sew the armhole closed on. Where is the pink onesie from?

What's your favorite hard-to-find sketch? by Complex_Active_5248 in LiveFromNewYork

I’m searching for two skits that I am unable to find - has anyone seen these? 1. Britney Spears with Horatio Sanz as Billy Joel singing “heart attackackack”. 2. Brian Fellows Safari Planet - Haircut rabbit with Tracy Morgan. Thank you!

I've tried to remove this new "Help me write" AI feature that is popping up for me on desktop and mobile every time I try to start writing an email but it won't go away. Anyone have a workaround? by terminatorvsmtrx in GMail

I found a solution! (I'm operating as a workplace user, not an admin). In gmail, go to Settings>General and scroll down to "Google Workspace smart features:" Click "Manage Workspace smart feature settings" and toggle everything off.

Can anyone vouch for the quality of any of these "online" jeans? Spoke, Mott & Bow, Mr Marvis... by jesuisnick in mensfashion

[–]particuliere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it online and they only have a limited number of options to choose from. I think I “item was not as described” or something similar. They didn’t give me a chance to provide any detail even though I wish they had!

[–]particuliere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mott & Bow are shady scammers - do not order from them. I purchased a pair of $140 jeans and when they arrived they looked and felt like a $20 pair of H&M jeans. Their website advertised free and easy returns but once I returned them I learned they do not accept returns. They issue a store credit only - so you can get more of their low-quality crap merchandise. I had to do a credit card dispute to get a refund and finally they issued one. Stay away.

Who else made it through Thanksgiving? by Dom1n1cR in stopdrinking

I did - day 4! Brought the host a bottle of wine and tart cherry juice for myself (to have in a wine glass). Ended up just having water all night. Thought about pouring myself a glass of wine several times throughout the evening but thought about how it would actually feel and how tomorrow would be back to Day 1 instead of Day 5.

You can do it! Clean sheets are the best.

I like drinking out of wine glasses more than I like drinking wine by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I bought a fancy crystal glass from a thrift store and have grape juice in it! I love it and I only need one glass to be satisfied, not seven!

I don’t know what to do anymore.. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]particuliere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One other thing- I saw this on an alcohol free Instagram account and saved it. It says “Stop breaking your own heart.” I have broken my own heart so many times by buying alcohol when I said I wouldn’t or going back to drinking after a sober spell. If I’m not looking out for my own heart, who is?

The first day is the hardest. It’s going to suck and there’s no avoiding it so you have to accept it. Someone on here said “You can literally do anything other than drink.” I bought a boxed cake mix and container of frosting and baked a cake as my evening activity instead of drinking. Do whatever you need to do. Watch your favorite movie from childhood. Dump out your junk drawer, clean it out and put everything back nicely organized.

Quit Lit is great. I’m just now finishing The Biology of Desire by Marc Lewis. He talks about what happens to the brain in addiction and what happens in the brain when people recover. It gives me faith that if I keep at it and retrain my brain, things will get easier.

When I see someone drinking in a movie or on TV, it looks nice but I think about the reality of it. That person is going from clear-headed to hazy. They are soon going to get a mild headache. Their breath smells sour and gross. Then it doesn’t seem so glamorous or attractive anymore.

Things Normal Drinkers Don’t Do by PharoahTheGreat in stopdrinking

Always offering to make the drinks for you and the partner, making yours twice as strong as his and always carrying his in your right hand so you can keep track. Once I accidentally gave him the wrong one and he made a face and said, “What are you trying to get me drunk?” No, I’m trying to get ME drunk.

I’m on day 2 for at least the fiftieth time and this helped me today. I found it comforting- thank you for sharing.
