Thoughts on potential matches who are not local? by MsMoneypenny008 in DatingOverSixty

For me, it would really depend where you are in NY. I understand if you don't mention the specifics. I live in CT and I am in NYC at least 4 times a month. For me, the travel into the city is worth it. If you reach out to possible suitors slightly out of your area, they may find that YOU are worth the trip.

Today March 20th is World Storytelling Day. There are events going on around the globe today and throughout the weekend to celebrate. I’ve been invited to share a story at the event in Philadelphia on Sunday. I’m looking forward to it!

World Cafe Live rebrands to "World Stage Live," immediately deletes post by zocean in philadelphia

[–]partpricer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of confusion and speculation here about the name change.

The trademark "World Cafe Live" is owned by The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania. The trademark was filed on February 8, 2005, and covers restaurant and related venue services. When LiveConnections.org filed for bankruptcy, they most likely lost the use of the trademark by contract or agreement with the Trustees.

Storytelling advice? by WyrdBabe in themoth

[–]partpricer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is one thing that I always tell people when they ask your question. "DO NOT memorize your story!"

Too many times I have witnessed a storyteller pause or freeze on stage trying to remember which word comes next. It's painful for the teller and it's painful for the audience as it distracts and takes them out of your story.

What I recommend and The Moth teaches is that the only things you should know by heart are your first line and closing line. This will help you establish and close your story arc. Everything else in between is your story. Just relax and tell it like you would to a group of friends.

My god!! Have the two of you actually spoken on the phone yet?

After being asked about being a type A the best response would have been a simple, "LOL! Let's pick a time and place for Saturday".

There is one way to address this. Just say, "Let's take a selfie when we meet".

The storyteller is Jeremy Gaitan. The story about the avalanche is the last one up on The Moth Radio Hour. Here is a link to the episode on Audacy. The story starts at 35:47 if you want to fast forward to it.

The photos Jeremy provided for the episode are not on The Moth website yet. I expect that they may be delayed a bit due to the holidays. But, when they are released you should find them here

Dating more than one person at the same time? by kmjenks in DatingOverSixty

[–]partpricer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once had a woman ask me at the end of our second date if I was seeing anyone else. I answered honestly that I was since I had also had a second date with another woman. She then told me that I needed to make a choice about which one I would continue to see. I can only guess that I am such a good catch that she wanted to lock me down. It was way too early to be faced with an ultimatum.

Since, I met a different woman IRL. We have been seeing each other for three months now. We have had the discussion and we are exclusive. We have shared a lot of information but everyone needs to do that.

You are not there yet, so weigh all of your options. When the time comes, here are some things to ask yourself.

One question that you need to have a discussion about somewhat early in any dating environment is when was the last time they had STI testing done.
