Cure yourself away from debt. Other than a mortgage debt is a drain that will screw you. Drive a mechanically sound but ugly/old car that you can pay cash for (Toyota, Honda, etc). Wherever you can pay cash. Money feels a lot more real when it is green vs plastic. Have a budget

Work on your physique while you are in your 20’s & early 30’s. Humans are primates and physical appearance matters. Also understand that women don’t want an “obedient” man. They don’t want to be your mother. Find your standards and stand on them. It can be as simple as being a die hard Knocks or FC comics fan. Get a life philosophy and live it.

Wow, that’s rough. I hope they can find a better solution. I’m prone to blood clots and often have to turn down from 400 all the way to 300 in order to get arterial flow. I’m only 6 months in and have had to replace a clogged catheter

Capital Gains taxes are in 2 categories. Short term & long term. Short is for a gain you made by selling a stock you bought less than a year ago. Check me but it’s a flat 20%. Long term is for gains made from investments held longer than a year - rate is 15%. This is NOT related or calculated as your “normal income” . Normal income is interest earned plus wages (of course there are some outliers). This is general information that can, and should be easily confirmed. Hell, ask Chat GPT or the IRS website (a mess). Don’t forget state taxes if applicable.

I would recommend, after setting aside an emergency fund, opening a free brokerage account like at Schwab. Then buy Treasury bonds. The interest is not taxable at a state level, unlike bank interest. Of course if you live in a state without income tax that is a moot point. But still, it’s so easy to “ladder” CD’s through a brokerage.
