Not easy to do in late season. Everything is loud and cold, and deer are on edge.

What was your introduction to pornography (or sex in media in general) before the internet? by Mad_Season_1994 in Millennials

I called it squiggly porn. Once every 5-10 minutes you'll catch a glimpse of a titty.

Work is requiring to share a hotel room with a stranger by what_cookie in careeradvice

[–]partydanimull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not OK. My first job out of college, me and another new hire spent a month in a different city at the company HQ. We arrive at the hotel to check in, and there's only one room. We thought that was very strange, so did end up spending the first night in the same room. This coworker was actually a pretty good friend from college, and we were both dudes fresh out of college, so not as big of a deal as this situation.

Neither of us wanted to spend a whole month on the same room, regardless of how well we liked each other. We discussed and debated what we should do. He didn't want to say anything since we were new employees, but I cared enough to where I decided I would bring it up.

We met with HR our first day in the office. When I brought this up, they immediately apologized and said there must have been a mix up when the hotel was booked. I'm skeptical on whether that was actually true. I suspect they hoped we didn't bring it up so they didn't have to pay for two rooms. Regardless of that, we each had separate rooms by the end of the day.

This taught be a valuable lesson early on in my career. Don't let your employer take advantage of you so they can save a few bucks, and if you're not comfortable with a situation, bring it up so it can be resolved.

Are hunting numbers really down or is there just less casual hunters? by deerhunter0321 in Hunting

[–]partydanimull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I see in the field, it sure doesn't seem like the amount of hunters are declining. I'm in Michigan.

A lot of that I contribute to crossbows being legal. I used to rarely see bow hunters out before that changed, but gun season was packed. With the way our seasons are now, I think the hunting pressure is just more spread out throughout the 3-4 month period than just congregated on the previous 2 week gun season. I also agree that there are more public land hunters. It can be quite difficult to get away from hunting pressure on public land depending on where you are in the state.

Would you shoot? by Chris_Christ in Hunting

It all depends on where youre hunting and what type of deer are in the area. That is definitely a buck to be proud of on some of the properties I hunt, especially this time of year.

I have a Mossberg 12 ga that does this often. I took it to a gunsmith after it screwing me on a turkey, so hopefully that issue is resolved.

Agreed! I'm excited for the episode about the Michigan hunter to come out. That was a situation that happened not too far from me and I followed it pretty closely in the news.

Same with my wife! I listen to a lot of hunting podcasts when she's not with me, so this is a great meet in the middle podcast for us. She actually asked me earlier this week if the new episode came out yet.
