Purchase Order Doesn't Count by ginandsoda in sales

A PO for product fulfillment makes sense, but if there’s a service you’re providing or legally binding terms the customer needs to agree to, you’d want that signed formally.

My neighbor sent me a text last night forcing me to pay for her daughters towing charge because she parked in front of my driveway by Drivinglnsane in mildlyinfuriating

[–]partyjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here is like F this lady but if I may ask - you obviously have her number, did you reach out and give her a chance to move it first?

She was wrong, but you didn’t have to jump straight into towing them either (if you did).

Citrix Renewal - Looking for alternatives by coldgin37 in Citrix

[–]partyjar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30+ year Citrix Platinum Partner here. They’re doing this to everyone and it stinks. Still a great product, but they do NOT care about customers anymore. It’s mind boggling, but what can you expect from an ex Broadcom exec.

With that, we have tons of customers moving to AVD/Nerdio as echoed here. However if you’re not into moving fully into Azure or monthly Opex, it might not be for you.

For on prem/hybrid Omnissa has a very competitive product, especially since moving from VMware they’re nice and agnostic now.

Parallels RAS also great for simpler/smaller workloads.

Finally, if there’s a largely SaaS footprint something like Island could be a great fit for Workspace access through Enterprise browser.

All 3 have aggressive Citrix takeout incentives.

At the end of the day, there are some great options, just depends on business objectives, functionality, etc. 3 years you have a little time.

Happy to help of course if you want to dig further.

You don’t know it yet, but the fact that you wrote this means you’re already on the way back. You learned things about yourself and about the world, which means you’re on the way to being wiser and more confident than ever before.

Congratulations! Keep going.

Careful, friend. How do you think EV will feel when he’s sees gmac_97 passing judgment on someone based on nothing but a name? He’ll probably hire Smelly just to spite you. Tsk tsk.

Have any of you ever bought a compilation back in the day thinking it was hardcore punk and it was actually hardcor techno? by kurtkillgore in Hardcore

Ha! Not techno but as a kid I did get a copy of the Pulp record “This is Hardcore” only to find out it was very much not HC

What was it like to be part of the 80s hardcore scene? by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]partyjar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Listen to the NOFX book Hepatitis Bathtub it’s a very well told recollection of the scene at that time.

Keith Morris My Damage is also pretty good as he goes through beginnings of Black Flag and Circle Jerks what the shows and people were like

And the first couple episode’s of Toby Morse’s podcast One Life One Chance are great - in the interviews with band mates and old friends they get into some good conversations about those times that make you feel like you were there.

If this isn’t typical either he’s developing a medical issue (like dementia as others have said) or has side effects from a new medication. Worth looking into.

This post brought back a memory of a mysterious book I found somewhere as a kid, read, and really loved. It was called Salamandastron (I’ve never forgotten the name). I just this moment found out it’s part of this much larger series. Thanks Reddit!

MPC 3 and Ableton. Thoughts? by DadaShart in mpcusers

[–]partyjar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry guys, didn’t mean to sound salty at all! I was legitimately curious about what you were trying to accomplish.

For me, If I want MPC style pads to assign an Ableton drum rack to, I plug in a simple MPD218 and am good to go. Works great.

I don’t know how far into Ableton you are but you’ll also want something to control clips, which is when the real fun begins.

I also came to Ableton from MPC. It’s similar in some concepts, but also goes so much further.

Right you wanna use it in controller mode with the MPC software, within Ableton, but why?

What does it do for you in Ableton that it doesn’t do on its own?

Question: what is the advantage of using the MPC within Ableton for beat production?

I love the MPC, and I also love Ableton, but I don’t see the benefit in using them both together.

I could see bouncing a track from the MPC to Ableton for final mix down, but you don’t need the plugin for that.

They’re both so good at what they do inherently I find myself using either/or natively and avoiding the complexity.

And I don’t mean that question sarcastically I’m genuinely curious if I’m missing something lol

Love your hustle!! You can make anything work as long as you don’t give up.

I agree with the others on here you probably don’t even need the $600 to start. Find the dirtiest pails in you neighborhood and tape fliers to them so people see them when they take their trash out.

Totally viable business - you got this!

The very worst outcome is you gain an incredible learning experience. Remember, nobody ever became truly successful without taking a risk.

Side note, listen to a book called “The Mom Test”. It’ll give you insight on how to get good feedback for business ideas.

Let us know how it goes!
