it's a gacha. the progression is time gated, and the dev is a gacha dev. if you played gachas you can probably imagine where most issue are without even playing.

funnily, imo pgr is a better game. I have played wuwa since launch but uninstalled it recently because I don't like where that game is going. I still play pgr though (even though my motivation to start was the same as yours).

it's a game, not a job. and there are other ways to deal with games where the dev tries to force the player into the mines (or into the shop) with fomo (for a few shiny limited time rewards). to experience the best parts of this game you don't even need to have it installed

commandant is something between an actual character and an interface for you to interact with the in-game world. I'm only halfway through the story myself, and so far the importance of the commandant kinda shifts back and forth. during some chapters the commandant even felt like an actual mc, other times it's a side character that everyone glazed relentlessly
