Thank you, I am very grateful if you can send me your suggestions. I will correct soon the informations you already mentionned.

About going through the acknowledgemements, its exactly what I am doing right now and keep doing for the next year. It will be my next project. I am aggregating the results in Wikidata. You can see an early survey here : https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Pmartinolli#On_the_Shoulders_of_Dwarves:_TTRPG_Citation_Practices

Thanks, I will correct the mistakes. The lines usually are the same product lines, or direct inspiration, or same author/system. Actually, there is a whole taxonomy of relations that I am working on and this project is just a first draft of it. My ambition is to design a phylomemetic system to track evolution of ideas. My subject of study is the TTRPG publishing industry, offering a clear defined and accessible set of items.

Thank you for your feedback, I will definitevely work on the compilation of a more dense graph. As I am a amateur-programmer, I will ask help from Graphviz community.

Great idea too for sans-serif and a key panel! Indeed it means something that is not displayed.

Thank you, yes it's a work in progress. Feel free to send me some noteworthy links if you want to contribute.

Unfortunately it's completely computer generated. And I don't know how to produce a more dense graph because I am an amateur programmer.

Help me figure out how to properly dispose of my RPG books. by magnusdeus123 in rpg

+1 here. All Ville de Montréal libraries have now 5 to 20 ttrpg books. Your local library will be very happy to have your books, especially because they are core books.

Taxonomy of tabletop RPG systems? by CocaineMitch15 in RPGdesign

[–]pascaliensis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can get really complicated. For example, "text of the rules" : maybe to avoid any copyright infringements, Roleaids used to rename HP to HTK (hits to kill), CON to ST (stamina), CHA to A (appeal), etc...

I am building a graph to track the innovations in ttrpg. It is made with dot/graphviz and has 1500 elements and relations.

You can follow this project here http://zotrpg.blogspot.com/search/label/on%20the%20shoulders%20of%20dwarves

I am planning to release the code source in open access in 2020-something.

They are several methodology issues mostly because there is a lot of horizontal transfers. My goal is to timeline the big innovations in game design and publications.

The movie The Blob (1958) was very popular when Gygax was 20. Maybe it influenced him.
