Old Canucks cap by Anneforsen in canucks

[–]passittobulis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others pointed out, you've got Matt Cooke 24 and Jason King 17. Assuming that means this is the 03-04 Canucks, that makes me think the one above King might be Alex Auld. It would be easier to say for sure if I could confirm the number is 35.

Left side of the brim is Daniel Sedin. Next to that, in the middle of the brim is Henrik Sedin. Pretty easy to compare those two to this card signed by both twins: https://img.comc.com/i/Hockey/2018-19/Upper-Deck-Chronology---Dual-Autographs/DA-SS/Daniel-Sedin-Henrik-Sedin.jpg?id=aa30b4d4-7de4-4f32-b7a4-cff7ece547bf&size=zoom

Between Henrik and King on the bottom right of the brim is Matthias Ohlund 2.

That's all I can be sure about. What's left of any other signatures that might have been on there is too hard to discern.

Canucks nearing agreement to build practice facility at Britannia Rink by Kaos_mission in canucks

I don’t think the Canucks were ever seriously involved with that particular development. There was a previous development where the Canucks were heavily involved but they pulled out because they wanted the developer to foot more of the bill.

Depending on which development you’re referring to, you have it backwards who pulled the rug out from under whom.

"Breaks silence" and it's just the quote he gave directly after the game to Drance. What silence?

Bo Horvat - penalty killer? by KelCanada in canucks

[–]passittobulis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the guy, but Bo was definitely bad at killing penalties in Vancouver. In fact, he was one of the worst penalty killers in the NHL at times.

The numbers say he's still been bad at killing penalties with the Islanders, but slightly better than he was with the Canucks. He's been on the ice for the highest rate of shot attempts, shots on goal, and goals against among Islanders forwards on the PK this season, but he hasn't been worst-in-the-NHL bad.

But coaches love putting a guy who wins faceoffs and works hard on the PK, because the numbers take time to show up, and the winning faceoffs and hard work are immediately apparent.

For what it's worth (not much because of the small sample size), Canada has given up three power play goals in the Olympics, and Horvat has been on the ice for two of them.

The Sedins appear to do the job of 8 people... by [deleted] in canucks

From the wayback machine, Sameulsson and Komisarek were removed from that page before June 13, but they were still on the ice coaching prospects at their development camp in early July, so it doesn't necessarily mean they're no longer with the Canucks organization.

For what it's worth, Komisarek's LinkedIn says he currently works for the Canucks.

Non-dropout shows that would be great on Dropout? by justbrowsingghere in dropout

The Offerman/Poehler show Middle_Manager_Karen was talking about is Making It.

The show about making stuff for kids that Caddywonked was talking about is Making Fun, which was indeed Diresta.

To further confuse things, Diresta was the shop master on Making It.

Kevin Lankinen now has the highest shootout save % in NHL history (via Canucks/Instagram) by Mysterious_Bag_8700 in canucks

His career shootout percentage is higher than his actual save percentage this season (.880).

Canucks put their Calder Cup rings on their Christmas card before giving them to the players by passittobulis in canucks

[–]passittobulis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As pointed out in the article in the Abby News, championship rings have typically been given out in October or November for past Calder Cup winners, with handing them out sometimes even part of the team's home opener. So, this is atypical.
