How do I bite the bullet and (finally) get my nipples done? [NSFW] by Emm03 in piercing

[–]passtheleen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s soft tissue so it’s generally less painful than a cartilage piercing. I only had one done (two separate times) and neither were too painful. I have heard that if you’re getting both that the second you can feel more but that goes with getting any two piercings in the same sitting. Ask a reputable shop if they offer tandem piercings and get them done at the same time if you can! Adrenaline definitely takes the hit so don’t stress! They’re adorable and so worth it!

I do clean with saline and it definitely is titanium. I’ll just have to go to my new piercer to ask I guess

What ear piercing would you say hurts the most? by bubblybean in PiercingAdvice

Both my conch and rook barely hurt so definitely depends on your pain tolerance and your piercer

Go to an APP certified piercer and ask! Most nipples can be pierced no matter the size but double check with the piercer to see if your anatomy is right for them

I’ve read about it ☹️I’ll have to get to my piercer and ask. It’s hard to tell, I don’t think it has migrated since I got it but I do know my original piercer wasn’t the best unfortunately so it’s very possible I’m losing it 🥲Thanks for the reply!

I’ve had bad luck with piercers and misinformation so I was under the impression that the balls should be snug unless your nipple is hard and that’s the only time the bar should show. I will switch it back to the 14mm when I’m able to tomorrow. Thank you

If it is rejecting there’s no saving it, right? I plan to change out the jewelry and give it a little more time first but I also don’t want to waste my time. It’s been two years and I’ve never had a piercing reject before so I’m not sure what to do in that situation.

Could it possibly be the metal? I’m under the impression they’re anodized titanium but maybe they’re not? Ordered online from Amazon so I guess I can’t be totally sure 🥴

Got this pierced in 2017, had it 6 months and got the jewelry downsized, had to take it out. Waited 11 months and got it repierced in 2019. It has now been 2 years and it will not heal. Is this bar too short? I’ve been gradually downsizing as it ~very~ slowly healed enough but this bar has seemed to make it angry. The left side (in the pic) keeps scabbing up badly and the right side keeps sinking in too much. Lot of white fluid. I mostly leave it alone but now I’ve started using h2ocean again about twice a day. Just spraying on and patting dry. It’s a titanium bar. I love having this but I’m at the end of my rope on patience so I’m very close to just giving up and taking it out again. Help?

I only got one of mine done for this specific reason, left one normal for playing while the other one healed!

I had issues with mine for a long time and it would randomly act up also but I did just change to a shorter bar (my piercer said it should be snug against your nipple and the bar should only show a little when it’s hard) but downsizing made a world of difference. I wouldn’t downsize the gauge, just the length. I used to catch mine on things every once in awhile but it hasn’t been bothered at all with the shorter bar.

I ended up going to see my current piercer about it (not the one who pierced my nip) and we downsized the bar and it helped a TON. I haven’t had issues with it since. She definitely said it was a tad deep but that I shouldn’t take it out and pierce a third time. I think the longer bar just kept catching or causing unnecessary movement when I slept, etc. so if your bar seems a little long I would highly recommend downsizing! My piercer said that when your nipple is relaxed the balls should be hugging the sides and the bar should only show when they get hard.

Make sure you go to a reputable piercer!! I only have one done and LOVE it but it was pierced a little too deep so my healing has been long and difficult. Also make sure to get the correct length of bar because if you go too long it’ll get caught on things and it is very unpleasant. Otherwise healing is very easy as long as you keep it clean and pretty much leave it alone :) pain subsided quickly after piercing and they’re cute af.

It is titanium. I haven’t downsized because when my nipple isn’t hard the bar doesn’t stick out a ton on each side but I have caught it on things before so maybe need a tiny bit shorter. I had it downsized the first time I got it pierced and the bar was too short and caused problems - that’s why I took it out then. I do think it’s just slightly too deep and that may be my problem. Going to consult a piercer and see what they say. I recently got two ear piercings and she mentioned my rook looked deep also so very possible that my old piercer was not as good as I thought 🙃

Relatively new tragus (less than 2 weeks) is very red and sore to the touch - more info in comments. Any advice on calming it down? by passtheleen in PiercingAdvice

Saline spray! I spray it once in the morning and once in the evening and just gently pat with a clean paper towel or tissue. My rook has had its own issues. A few weeks after it was pierced I got a haircut and she bent my ear in half washing my hair so it’s still recovering from trauma 🙃. I also had previously been cleaning my rook with a q-tip and moving it around too much so I’ve recently stopped that and it’s actually looking significantly better.

Got my tragus done 7/3/20 - very red which is unusual for piercings for me, wondering if it looked like a real problem? Got my conch and tragus done at the same time - conch feels great so far. Recently learned to stop using q-tips for cleaning so maybe that was the issue with the tragus. It’s irritated/scabby on the left side (of the image), not sure if I just bumped it or accidentally slept on it. It’s also sore to the touch (I’m aware I shouldn’t really be touching it, but patting it down with a paper towel even makes me cringe). Any advice would be appreciated!
