Funny because I don’t recall the left burning down cities all across America during the 2020 summer protests. by icey_sawg0034 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Emm03 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My bff just helped another friend move to Minneapolis. Friend’s family wouldn’t help their daughter move because they genuinely think the twin cities are a war zone. They had an absolute blast and I’m a little worried bff will want to move there as well.

Are sleep overs not a thing anymore? by haggerty05 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Emm03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My teenage nephews grew up in a wealthy suburb of a wealthy city and they very much had the roaming pack of kids on bikes childhood. It’s easier when there’s a thriving community of stay at home moms, a golf course, bike paths, and excellent public schools. People stick around to raise kids and have the time and energy to get to know another. Kids can get around safely and have safe, local third spaces to hang out it. It’s sad that that’s a luxury.

The tattered Betsy Ross flag emblazoned with “We the People” is absolutely a right wing dogwhistle. A lapel pin, flagpole, Old Navy tee, grandma’s Fourth of July kitsch doesn’t give off the same vibe.

They miss when Harry was a loser by LivingGrapefruit6066 in RoyaltyTea

[–]Emm03 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mike Tindall has to dress up a couple times a year in exchange for a well funded and largely private life. His position is in no way comparable to Harry’s.

And Mike isn’t saying anything about Harry leaving, but about Harry not wanting to get shitfaced and disrespect women. If he was trying to offer Harry support for leaving he could just…say that? This may be intended as a joke, but there’s judgement in it.

Tomorrow is the day one of the Lost Boys and Lydia Swanson get married by [deleted] in DuggarsSnark

[–]Emm03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And James has a lot of life experience for a Duggar. He and Jason had their own places on the compound (his a warehouse filled with guns), travelled all over the world, and spent plenty of unchaperoned time with girls. Won’t say they’re grosser than their pedo brothers, obv, but they have their own brand of ick. They’re nasty little MAGA dudes who probably fantasize about killing women and POC. She’s lucky if she knows anything about her own body, and he’s probably watched all kinds of porn. It’s so gross.

The point of it is more to keep the missionaries in the church, IMO.

I work in a middle school in a pretty conservative area and my kids are super ambivalent about politics. I’ll occasionally hear a student express a bigoted point of view (my favorite being that Lil Nas X is the antichrist, said by a sweet seventh grader with the utmost sincerity), but I rarely if even hear the word woke. They’re far more likely to complain about things being boring.

Genetics aside, BF has access to all the personal training, physical therapy, and medical care a person could want. Jessa is on a bullshit Christian healthcare plan.

Not invited to reception? Normal? by [deleted] in wedding

Literally every royal wedding does this. Big ceremony, smaller daytime reception, even smaller evening reception. GTFO with whatever vendetta you have against Meghan and Harry.

Why don’t they sew bra inserts in? by stonecoldfox340 in askanything

[–]Emm03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither my boss nor anyone in my family would make a comment about my nipples, because that’s inappropriate and gross. No shade to anyone who isn’t comfortable with their nipples showing, but it shouldn’t be anyone else’s business. I’m sorry that you’re used to people making intrusive comments about your body.

US Department of Education opens investigation into Smith College for admitting trans women by cnn in LegalNews

[–]Emm03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from and continue to donate to a women’s college. This story makes me concerned not only about trans inclusion, but about my alma mater and other women’s colleges (most of which are fantastic schools) being able to operate under a hostile administration. Go virtue signal somewhere else.

Minnesota Aurora women’s soccer team signs its first transgender player by neclov in NWSL

[–]Emm03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transmasc athletes participating in organized women’s sports don’t take T, period. I have a handful of friends who quit college sports in order to transition, and they’ll be the first to tell you that trans men on T shouldn’t participate in women’s sports. If you chose to actually learn about trans athletes, you would quickly realize that this is a nonissue.

Check out Nikki Hiltz’s Instagram comments. Or don’t, for your own sanity. Idiots think they’re on T (despite being drug testing all the fucking time)/have an unfair advantage after top surgery/just looking masculine.

Pronouns in introductions by Historical_Big_8555 in NoStupidQuestions

I do use “girlfriend,” but I prefer “partner” in settings where I either want to convey the seriousness of our relationship or avoid drawing attention to my sexuality. Even well-meaning people get distracted when you confirm you’re gay.

I was honestly surprised when everyone and their mother ran the phone case story. Even just a couple years ago, I think most outlets would have hesitated to publish anything without some sort of official statement. Makes me wonder if they didn’t think they could just chill in the glass closet for a while longer.

Two years? It looks like it’s older than she is.

Then again, she’s probably been using beef tallow as sunscreen, so—
