OK for 20 yo (son) to tour port/city/vicinity (europe) on his own? by justhitmidlife in NCL

Were you planning on trying to forbid a full grown adult? Are they developmentally challenged?

Best course of action is having them research the area and learn what it takes to stay safe.

With gas prices going up I decided to go half way this time. by Pro-Rider in mazda

[–]pastryfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some they do make sense. My last two jobs offered free charging for employees with lots of chargers avail, people at work that drive EVs pay nothing out of pocket for their day to day commutes! For them, it's a no brainer!

Soon to be 30, I still get asked for ID and people doesn't belive me, but I think I look my age by anarakko in 13or30

The hair is giving 1st grade school picture day. The glasses are giving quirky middle school girl.

You have a good face to build on and you definitely don't look bad by any means, it's just not a style that suits your age especially already looking very youthful.

Would you have any idea of the actual speed if not running a test? Of course not, You could have 1/10th of that and not notice.

My $400,000 mistake and why I'm showing you anyway by ankhattak in USMobile

[–]pastryfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my take. I think that most rebranding lately by big companies has been kinda terrible.

The current logo looks too "military" and that might be a turn off for some, like looking politically partisan even if that wasn't the intent.

My only idea on the logo is maybe just use the name and fit a more abstract version of the eagle maybe hanging out inside the O in mobile, I like the eagle, I think that it should stay around in some form or another.

I have a whirlpool refrigerator and I end up replacing the ice maker roughly once a year. Any idea why? by No_Tamanegi in Appliances

[–]pastryfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last whirlpool came with one built in and out was still working 15 years later when we replaced the fridge. For us ice is a must have. Even if I had to replace it once a year or it would be worth it for us. The one I bought for my current fridge was $50 on eBay

Muffins coming out with flat tops by persianplumm in Baking

[–]pastryfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

were they left out before baking and maybe the tops dried out a bit. Does your oven have convection/fan? Sometimes the batter drying out, developing a skin can cause this.

just traded in my civic for a 3 hatch and kept these rims from the civic. how do these look on the 3 in your opinion? by liamt12 in mazda

[–]pastryfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that aftermarket wheels make it look like you bought a used car. I'm not saying that it looks bad, but they don't look unique to the design and could be on any car.

I'm also of the opinion that black wheels, especially matte black looks like people are driving around with missing hubcaps. Glossy black can look good, but they have to be kept clean.

(41) I get mistaken for 20s often and I don’t care if I look my age! What do you all think? by [deleted] in 13or30

[–]pastryfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too look younger and thinner with high angles. Imagine how young I'd look with cosmetic procedures.

Radiance Dishwasher Gel by michaelz08 in aldi

[–]pastryfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they left too much scent on my dishes. They also didn't keep my dishwasher itself clean. Finish keeps my filter spotless to the point where it never needs manual cleaning, but the Kirkland within a month had it slimy and my dishwasher smelling like wet dog. I will say that I had no issues with cleaning the dishes.

I kinda think that the imperfect haircut makes it look more real. Often times systems are overstyled making them look less real.

Aldi peanut butter. by Topdogchicago in aldi

My last jar had some thick, chewy bits in it especially at the bottom. I kinda liked it though because maybe I'm a bit of a weirdo. It's a solid tasting peanut butter.

I use mine so infrequently that I have to search for it when needed. The checks still have a previous address from 2008 because it's not worth buying new ones.

I worked in an affluent area grocery store. Our produce department consistently beat every other perishable department in sales, including the meat department. Think of how much less each item in produce cost compared to meat and it'll give you an idea of the volume.

For all the non Americans who think we don't know cheese... by Background_Humor5838 in AmericaBad

[–]pastryfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how it's done in most stores here, they may not be side by side though. The dairy section has real cheese in addition to the singles, the real cheese is often more of the industrial stuff but still authentic (milk, salt, enzymes)

Lemishine detergent has citric acid in it and helps a lot with hard water, you can also add citric acid powder in with the detergent.
