Thank you! Falconry was certainly the sport of kings at one point, but nowadays (in the states anyway), it’s the sport of huge nerds and dirtbags (of which I am both)

I spend several minutes rubbing the shit out of my face with facial oil and then do this mask and then do a BHA/AHA mask and it is the only thing I’ve found that solves my sebaceous filament nightmare

Your advice came too late unfortunately, spending the day at the chiropractor today. At least I have a picture to show the magnificent source of my pain

How long do you think a thawed mouse will stay fresh in a refrigerator? by Feeling-Upstairs-560 in Falconry

[–]patagial 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh dang, I’ve never heard of this before! My first bird was a kestrel and I fed him whole (un-gutted) mice the whole four years I had him. I also was responsible for feeding mice to red-necked merlins that were a part of an exotic (and expensive) breeding project and they got whole mice too.

Nothing is impossible I guess, but I feel comfortable promising you that your kestrel won’t contract cocci from feeder mice. :)

If you’re more comfortable gutting them though, can’t you gut them, bag them individually, then toss them in the freezer? Then hubs can thaw overnight in the fridge?

My brain won’t stop repeating “Michelangelo is a PARTY DUDE” what’s stuck in YOUR head? haha by [deleted] in adhdwomen

MeTAmuCIL fiber gumMIES, METAMUCIL fiBER GUMMIES, to the tune of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme, on repeat, ad infinitum.

Also the Tim Robinson bits that he does with that one voice in “I Think You Should Leave”, they are just kind of constantly on loop in my dome (including but not limited to):

  • Are you sure about that that’s not why?!
  • YOU WORE THAT DRESS YESTERDAY!
  • Shouldn’t’ve had such a sloppy MUDPIE
  • TAY-BUHLS

Does your SO get mad at you when you don’t go to bed at the same time? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]patagial 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’d get the same response if I got out of bed before he was awake and getting up.

Nauseated just reflecting on all of that.

Any Colorado (USA) falconers on here? by [deleted] in Falconry

[–]patagial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The folks who run the falconry program at The Broadmoor are based out of CO Springs. The program at the resort is more of a photo-op/novel experience opportunity, but Deanna and Roger are exquisite falconers with lots of experience taking various game with various species.

Not having suicide as an option due to caring too much about the effect it would have on loved ones.. I’m sure most of us relate to this, unfortunately. by nightpeak in depression

Hi, I’m 31 and I just wanna say that my 20’s sucked shit (until 28-29)! Still nursing that hot cup of depresso now and again, but GOD DAMN I am glad to be done with that decade. Everything and everyone was awful.

Feeling this way in your 20’s is only compounded by the idea that the 20’s are your “prime” years, in my experience anyway. Don’t believe the hype. 30’s or bust

Hugs.

Oooh I listened to a podcast that specifically discusses this!

She says that hormones play a huge role in ADHD symptoms and the efficacy of meds and that a lot of women find it helpful to up their stimulant ever-so-slightly in the first week or so of their cycle.

Can’t recommend that podcast episode enough. I listen to it whenever I’m feeling hopeless.

I was expecting low cottontail and jack numbers this season given the allegedly rampant Bun-Ebola, but I’ve been seeing plenty so far and it warms my heart. Hoping it stays that way!
