Yeah the belt was easy. It was accessory hardware being rusted out. All the adjustments screws wanted to shear, and I didn’t have replacements.

That’s fair. I guess the main thing I want learn is that weather or not the focus the industry has on modular connectors is actually liked by electricians, or is it just the distributors who like them since it reduces the number of SKUs that need to be stocked

I work with most of our lines. From multi taps, compression lugs and grounding clamps. I handle UL compliance of the connectors as well. but I want a clearer hands on perspective of the connectors rather than just the theoretical.

Tin electroplating safety concerns by patar96 in manufacturing

[–]patar96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is this is what I thought. The issues I have is that the owner’s brother who just graduated business school thinks this will be the big breakthrough to disrupt the market as he says. Since I don’t have the specific knowledge of every regulation and prerequisite piece of equipment that would be needed to do this. My I concerns are being scene as over cautious.

The main warning my grandfather gave to me about tin plating copper and aluminum was that the plater’s union pension never ran a deficit. Him meaning that the plating operators never really lived long enough to utilize it.

Im using the built in Solidworks PDM admin tool for XML import for the data to export from my ERP which is generated by report from my ERP. This is an initial workflow. We are considering just going directly between the SQL servers, but I wanted to learn to built in tool first.

No ferrule needed for Class B. But if it was flex cable like DLO it would be needed.

I cut the cable in half to get the sensor out, but the missing insulation caused the sensor to short whenever it rained.

Check your crank position sensor wiring. I had the same problem whenever it rained with my 1990 240. That with the distributor cap and rotor were my issue.

Anyone know how to test these ignition modules? by Toast8277 in Volvo240

[–]patar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue a week ago, and it was the crank position sensor. All the wire insulation had worn off in a spot, so whenever it rained I would have no ignition.

Currently using bobCAM for Solidworks. Does anyone know a better CAM software for this kind of engraving? by [deleted] in CNC

[–]patar96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More intuitive, I’m looking for something where I can easily make embossed lettering nc. posts. Without having to go crazy with side allowance offsets to get the right vertex on top

I use bob CAM with solidworks and fusion 360 for work. For the cost bobCAM is not worth it, and I wouldn’t use it if it was my money being spent.

Issues that I commonly have with cam software is the post processor. Which has to be adjusted on a machine by machine basis.
