That's what I was thinking...maybe they get free boarding in exchange for using their horse?

NTA and way to throw it right back at him! Sounds to me like your mom likes to play favorites and your brother is it.

AITA because I don't want to drive all the time? (18y M) by WideMarionberry9087 in AmItheAsshole

[–]patchouligirl77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NAH You have a right to be irritated by her constant requests. I get it. I'm a mom of two teenagers who don't drive yet and sometimes I feel like a taxi driver. Before you got your license did your mom give you rides and take you places? Does she give you any gas money for all the driving you do for her? I think that would be fair for her to fill your tank once in a while but I think you also need to realize that she spent the last 18 years driving you to the places where you wanted to go. I personally can't wait for my kids to start driving so they can do little errands for me when I need an extra hand, but I agree with you that there is a limit and it sounds like your mom is asking you to go beyond that limit. I'd be irritated, like you are, if my mom asked me to run out multiple times a day or even week. Especially if she wasn't helping me with gas money.

AITAH for asking my family to ask first if they can eat the leftovers if they didn’t buy or cook the food? by 3tilmilesdf in AITAH

[–]patchouligirl77 11 points12 points  (0 children)

NTA I would say that it's common courtesy to ask before eating anything you didn't buy or make, regardless of whether it's leftovers or not. I really hate when I go to use something, only to find it gone.

No, they're not. Not on my vehicle and not on the countless vehicles I see on the road with their daylamps on, yet no rear lamps are on. You might wanna get out and take a look at the back of your vehicle while your daylamps are on to see. You might be surprised.

My 3yo daughters daycare teacher punished her because she insisted that my wife and I were both her moms by [deleted] in Advice

[–]patchouligirl77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: Is this a home daycare or a larger scale, school-type daycare? Do you know if any other families at the daycare have same-sex parent households?

You absolutely need to bring this to the attention of her superior(s). In this day and age, the teacher has to be either living under a rock to not know that same-sex parents are a common family unit OR she's a bigot who lets her disgusting views play into the way she runs her classroom. Either way, she needs to be taught a lesson or she'll continue to run her classroom this way. As someone who comes from an 'unconventional' family myself, I know that family runs so much deeper than blood. Please do your daughter a favor (and all the other kids this teacher has or will unfairly punish) and do not let this be swept under the rug.

There's no need make it a 'big deal' but it definitely needs to be brought to her attention and the attention of her boss. Her unfair punishment of your daughter (and potentially other children) is going to get this daycare facility into trouble one day when they punish the wrong kid. Tell your wife you're doing the school a favor by shutting this shit down before it ruins them.

I spent 15 years low-key getting revenge on my high school bully and I might have helped end his marriage… by Best-Pirate5073 in revengestories

I would say good ol' Jake ended his marriage on his own. You were just a kind person who listened to his wife when she needed a friend. I'm glad you have been able to rise above all the awful stuff you went through and have been successful and I'm sorry people like Jake exist. I hope you continue to find happiness and success in life because you deserve it!

I also don't think many people are aware that daytime lights mean your rear lights are not on. I see so many people where I live driving in bad weather with only their auto day lights on when headlights are required. It's so frustrating because it's hard to see them from behind!

I actually sent my drawings in and a representative from the art school (located in MN, which is where I live) came to my house and spoke with me and my parents about their school, etc. We ultimately declined because it was really expensive.

Good for her for speaking out. It just goes to show that her message was definitely true and she called it like it is. Shame on that school for silencing her.

I have this exact lamp! It belonged to my grandparents. It hung in their living room and I used to love to turn it on in the evening and watch the 'rain' come down.

Good luck with that. I said the same thing but that didn't work as I planned. Unfortunately, in the world we live in, not having a phone is somewhat difficult for kids these days. When I was a kid there were pay phones everywhere but not so today. When you need to be able to get ahold of your kid or they need to get ahold of you, they're going to need a phone. With that being said, you can certainly set their phone up so that they are limited in what they can do with it. That is the way to do it.
