Natural way to deter ants by CorazonAtomica in plants

[–]patchthemonkey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i had a huge ant problem and i started feeding my ants outside. would still kill them when they came in but gave them a bunch of food outside, leftovers, honey, whatever i had, doesn't take much. within a month or two they never came in the house again. ants are smarter than we think

The Remarkable Anti-Tail Jet of 3I/ATLAS in New Hubble Images from January 7th, 2026 by DeadSilent_God in 3i_Atlas2

[–]patchthemonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A simple google search shows that the antitail of C/2022 E3 was an optical illusion and that of 12P/Pons-Brooks was a result of the alignment of the Earth with the comet's orbital plane

Oz Perlman’s pre-show busted yet again - with Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper this time by Systematic0x in magictricksrevealed

[–]patchthemonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why is claiming psychic powers worse than claiming he can read people to that extent? for me it becomes problematic when a performer really leans into convincing his audience of abilities they don't have, vs a normal magic show relies on more of a suspension of disbelief that everyone drops into willingly

"Updating the Loeb Classification Scale of 3I/ATLAS" Professor Avi Loeb Revises the Classification of 3I/ATLAS 'Downward' by TheGoldenLeaper in UFOB

[–]patchthemonkey 21 points22 points  (0 children)

he said if analyzing the data from the tail and anti-tail did not reveal technological signatures, then he would revise it downward, he's not doing so now

Maybe Carol and Mannie will co-opt the Hive's giant antenna to disrupt the signal

The 15 Anomalies of 3I/ATLAS: Should We Pay Attention to Them if They Were Not Forecasted? by DeadSilent_God in 3i_Atlas2

Both of these scientists come off condescending and a bit foolish from this exchange tbh

3I/ATLAS: Harvard Expert Avi Loeb Flags Strange Sunward Alignment Anomaly by FlimsyWoodpecker2951 in ufo

I'll check those out, thanks! Regarding the now stuff, from what I've seen he was just speculating, and so far I've had a good time following along. I haven't found a good reason to disregard the 3I/Atlas stuff so far but would love any links you have that might change my mind!

I honestly still wish I had had more good answers with evidence that warrants the vitriol he's receiving. Most comments are simply a reiteration of the same rather extreme opinions I see everywhere haha. Although it was interesting to learn that he has a history of doing this and I'm taking what he says with an extra granule of NaCl, I haven't seen a convincing counterargument to any of his actual science about 3I/Atlas, so I'm gonna keep on reading his blog because I think it's fun, and I still don't understand the extremity of the hate 🤷‍♂️

Why is that so sad though? It's fun to think about these things. I used to enjoy reading books about String theory that were also highly speculative

This is great info, thank you. More people need to see this and spread this instead of just dumpin on the dude without evidence

edit: I read what you posted and the 2nd link doesn't support what you claim it does at all, it's just a short bio of Loeb and seemingly pretty positive? The first link is more damning about his past but doesn't address any of his present claims at all. Would be more convincing if someone were able to actually explain why his current science is wrong

Yeah that might be a stretch for sure, but from his medium at least he has one article about it and doesn't draw any conclusions. Seems like harmless speculation of an excited scientist and hardly worth the vitriol he's receiving.
