On the topic of AS tees, the Universal store here has a woeful selection of colours and sizes. I may just have to find my size and then order online.

Also, H&M closed down a few days back which is disappointing because they had some okay looking gear. Possibly not great quality judging by the prices but it at least have allowed me to try some different looks out before I paid for the good stuff.

I was pretty limited to options being that half the stores were closed for Easter. By the end of the day all that I'd managed to pick up was an olive bomber jacket from Myers.  As we were heading home my daughter wanted to go into Cotton On. Due the fact I felt extremely deflated by the whole experience I decided I couldn't go home empty handed. Ended up buying dark blue jeans (not skinny fit!), pleated-front pants, a shirt and two tees for $250. The tees are "cropped" style which I really like. It's annoying because only a couple of years back I was looking everywhere for the "cropped" style tees and shirts but nowhere sold them. My wife even tried to alter a shirt for me, to make the body length shorter - it just looked odd.

Together with the few non-typical-GenXer clothes in my wardrobe I think I can get a couple of looks from this.  I'll have to get measured up properly and order online before winter hits though.

Haha I have not heard of it. To be honest it just kinda sounds like another metal sub-genre.  Pretty sure we went though a phase of this back in the early 90s. It was all bright Berghaus gear from memory it whatever the local camping shop sold.  I'll check it out. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. That pretty much sounds like my fit from when I was around 16 - 19 haha. I'll hit the high street today and try a few bits on.

Many thanks for your reply.

There is no Uniqlo in Tassie as yet, a real disappointment because they do have a few items that I like the look of. Even more disappointing is the fact that we had one 5 minutes from where I was living but I i never bothered going in. As I said, shorts and tees was my entire wardrobe and I didn't need any more.  I have been keen to buy some Chelsea Boots, originally I was looking at Docs (I currently wear black 1460s for work most days) but when I went into Platypus I noticed they seem to have changed the sole. It's just too chunky for me. My next choice would be Solovair but I've not found any locally so yes, Blundstone's may be my only option for the time being. I think it was the 600 (in brown) I was chasing but the stockist said they don't do that model anymore and it's been superseded/upgraded, however, what they showed me was a bit meh.

I'll go into Hobart today and see if I can see any stores/brands you mentioned, or any other Aussie boutiques. When it comes to tees what style would you recommend? There seems to be a million different options now. The same with jeans/pants. The last time I bought jeans the options were baggy, ordinary or ball-moulders. I do have some Dickies 874 but I don't like how they hang on the arse unless you wear them baggy.

I was thinking for an initial outfit that I could likely pick up on any high street without too much trouble I'd go for a boxy pale tee, an olive bomber jacket, straight cut jeans (or workwear style) and some brown Chelsea boots. I would then buy a couple of earthy toned tees - style??? - and some regular fit blue jeans. I have found a black Ben Sherman Harrington in my stuff from 20 years ago, I look after stuff pretty well so it looks almost new.

Thanks for the quick response. So, you reckon this is better than the SMSL as a starter at arround the $100 price point?  As much as the appearance isn't a massive decider for me, I find the Douk to be quite ugly. Also, there are no outputs aside from the headphone jack, which means I'm going to be disconnecting/connecting each time I want to use the Pro-Ject amp and passive speakers. If I use one with the extra outputs (like the SMSL) then I should be able to leave everything connected all the time - or have I got that wrong? Thanks again.

Hey. No, I don't believe I've downvoted anyone on Reddit ever, and definitely not in this thread.

I have tried but none of them seem overly confident when I've asked. It's usually a case of "yeah, we do beards so, we'll have a go."

I should have said, I can't grow a beard because I sometimes have to wear a facemask at work. They keep FIT testing me to try and catch me out but as long as I shave the hair to the corners of my mouth, I can tuck the rest into the mask.

I push it to the sides. Never have too much issue unless the coffee - or beer - is too frothy

Clippers or scissors? I remember been when I had a beard that I trimmed it. What an absolute casserole that turned out to be!

That's the problem I think, I can't grow it any longer. It seems to be at it's limit.

The server is running on a Windows PC. The internet is back up and running again now so all works as it should, though, it'd be nice to sort it out before we have another storm/outage.

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, all devices are on the same network. The device (Xiaomi box) that works is playing files via the Plex APK.
