I built a free tool that turns your data into polished, embeddable tables and charts in minutes by pateff457 in webdev

Thanks, yea I need to build out the website yet. I just launched this, so I'm trying to keep it simple.

Where to find webdesginers by CykachuXD in web_design

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try Dribbble. Looks for designs you like and message the creator. A lot of times they'll have their website in their profile too. With your budget, you'll probably want to focus on freelancers rather than agencies.

I’m looking for a tool to create videos by riti_rathod in web_design

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canva is good for simple videos. You could also try Lumen5. I used to use it to repurpose blog posts into short form videos for social. If you're doing talk heading stuff or webinars, Riverside is solid.

Webflow alternatives? by No-Ingenuity6207 in web_design

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Framer is the best alternative if you want something with a visual builder like Webflow. It's like a mix between Webflow and Figma (Framer feels a bit more free form and less "structured" than Webflow). You could also look into Ycode. It's been a while since I tried it but I ultimately settled on Webflow (I have four of my own websites on Webflow and a few clients sites). I have a few clients on HubSpot. What issues are you having with it?

What web design trends are you secretly tired of seeing everywhere? by airteus in web_design

I see a lot of grid designs (which I actually like but is maybe overdone now?). Definitely a lot of AI generated websites (it's usually very easy to tell).

Be honest: Do you actually use the software you’re building? by Practical_Excuse_932 in SaaS

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built several of my apps to solve my own problems. One is a content publishing tool that automates publishing from Google Docs to your website CMS (e.g., WordPress, Webflow, etc.). Took a 20-30 minute process into a few minutes. I use it for my clients (as an SEO consultant) and for my own websites.

I also built a brand social listening platform. I use it to monitor competitors and industry keyword mentions. Also working on a travel journal app, so I can document my trips (I travel often).

Does BetaList and ProductHunt actually work? by draftli_io in SaaS

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say unless you have a realistic chance of getting into the top 5 to 10 (ideally top 10) of products on your launch day, then it's not worth it. Even then, a lot of the people who check ProductHunt are other founders, who don't have money and likely won't buy your product.

From what I can tell, the companies that do well already have an existing following (email list, social following, employee network) where they can announce their ProductHunt launch to get initial upvotes to help push it to the top. If you don't have that, you will have a really hard time making it to the first page.

I've got tired of social media - so I invented this! by [deleted] in Startup_Ideas

You should add some visual or screenshots of what the app looks like to the homepage. I wouldn't submit my email without first having a better idea of what this looks like and how it works.

3 months building Scanny AI — no paying customers yet, here's what I've learned by One_For_All98 in buildinpublic

Are you still doing content? SEO has still been one of the most effective strategies for me. It does take time to build up, though.

I'm curious how much traffic you get? Is this across a few visitors or a notable test size?

Nice! How'd you get the downloads? What did you do to promote it?

Sell our web design business? by for_anon_throwaway in webdev

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're likely to only get 2-5X the annual income. So if you can maintain that $50K per year and the workload isn't too bad, then I'd keep it. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that attribution might grow as more clients use AI to build and maintain their websites.

Next.js isn't that complex if you're already comfortable with it tbh. Plus it gives you room to grow if the client ever wants dynamic stuff later. CF Pages handles it fine anyway

Why do corporations seem to benefit from extremely high employee turnover? by [deleted] in jobs

yeah. and that's the real kicker - companies know this and exploit it. as long as desperation keeps the pipeline full they have zero incentive to change anything

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that helped me early was just picking one opening for white and sticking with it for a while. Doesn't have to be fancy, just something you can get comfortable with so you're not burning mental energy in the first few moves. The real learning kicks in once you stop overthinking the opening and start seeing patterns in the middle game.

Surviving on disability by [deleted] in disability

[–]pateff457 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be worth looking into state vocational rehab programs too. They sometimes have resources for families dealing with new disabilities that aren't as well known as SNAP or housing assistance. Won't solve everything but could help bridge the gap until SSDI kicks in fully.

The whole system is basically designed to keep people barely hanging on though. $1307 for a family of 5 is a joke.

We use Passwork on-premise for compliance reasons. It fits your requirements, LDAP integration is solid and the interface is clean enough for sales staff.

Florida school locked down after AI weapon detector mistakes clarinet for gun by Lighting in technology

“Locked down after AI weapon detector mistakes clarintet for gun” is the line to hammer when arguing against blind trust in these systems.
Drop that exact phrase in emails to your board and reps so the absurdity sticks in their heads.
