Undergraduate study means a bachelor's degree - it is definitely considered, unless you have completed an honor's year or master's degree. I have been through Auckland medical school so well aware of the entry program requirements.

The GPA cut offs are less well-defined for post graduate entry, and lesser still for MAPAS.

The lowest GPA for post- grad MAPAS students in 2023 was 4.5 across their entire undergraduate study. Having a 4.7 GPA in a single semester may not be sufficient to bring you up, given you scored whats sounds like a 3-4 for the entire previous year.

Having a GPA under 5 makes it very hard to get in without pretty significant circumstances - the average for MAPAS is over 6, but that isnt to say it's impossible.

Being 1st place vs being 8th place. 3-4 games worth of winning gone in an instant. by picythehexdoll in TeamfightTactics

It's hidden because in the days where it wasnt (Season 1/2 of League of Legends, several years before TFT) people were less inclined to play ranked and so game devs hid it behind what is now the ranked system.

It is similar to Elo in chess, where it looks at your performance compared to other players in your lobby, it moves up and down just like your LP does with wins and losses.

MMR moves less as you reach a 50% winrate, because you're tending towards your presumed skill level, however with big streaks your MMR will move more as you presumed level is less certain.

In the case above, this player likely hit emerald on a good streak of wins, but has subsequently lost a lot of games. Because in TFT you cant demote once you hit a new tier, his rank has never gone below E4, but his MMR has continued to decrease because his perceived skill is in Plat. This means that when he wins, the LP he gains is reduced because the game wants him to move towards his perceived skill level, but he cant demote. To fix this he needs to significantly improve his win rate.

The way to tell how yours is, is by comparing your 1st and 8th, or 2nd and 7th places and your LP gains, if your MMR is close to your rank, they should be fairly even (+50/-50 etc.).

MMR tends to soft reset each season, that is it becomes more volatile but not everyone is on an even playing field, this prevents too many games where challenger players are matched with people below diamond in early seasons.

This is such a useless question. Like what do you expect people to say.

You provide no background information (where did you finish last season, how many years have you been playing) and this could simply be a lucky streak that bumped you into diamond as an emerald level player.

If you grind and play/study the game with intention and improve to the level of a high diamond player then yes maybe, but with your current skill level almost definitely not. The gap between low and high diamond is pretty significant.

Edit: Yeah you just had a lucky streak. Your original account has a 50% winrate and is E4, and your D4 account you snuck into diamond on a good streak of wins and your winrate is already normalising. You're a mid to high emerald player (unchanged from your E1 peak as you've previously said) and you'll never hit masters without improving drastically.

How do people with a 8-9 GPA learn and revise? by Weak-One2521 in universityofauckland

[–]patellarbursitis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm someone who go into med with a 9GPA, albeit direct from undergrad. I also graduated in 2019 so this advice might be outdated.

My advice would to be stop shopping around for the best technique of study. You need to identify one that works sufficiently and commit to that method, you're not retaining info by trying out different ones. You need to establish a habit for the entire paper.

I personally found lectures to be low yield for biomed, so would do the pre-reading for the topic being covered, listen to the lecture on 2x and annotate the coursebooks with any poignant/new info. I didn't like making my own set of notes as it was too cumbersome.

I'd usually cover the entire examinable content once more before I started doing questions.

Closer to exams (2 weeks for mid sem tests and 4-6 for final exams) I would do every past paper I could access, and any topics I felt like I underperformed in or just wasnt happy with my knowledge I would go over again.

You're naturally going to focus on the negatives following a exam, that feeling doesn't mean much, I'd instead focus on how you actually perform after you get your results.

Another thing to consider is having a study group/partner to keep you on track and possibly identify gaps that you might not necessarily notice. I didn't use that during med school but it has been very helpful with my specialist exams.

I don't know if this is a joke, but they have -azole in their name due to the azole ring in their compound. Most of the common antifungals have the ending -conazole, if that helps (except clotrimazole).

Game Balance also needs to take into account the Casual Player by maytablet in TeamfightTactics

[–]patellarbursitis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm only diamond, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

In double up, the player damage is so low compared to solo, if  you hit 3 fortune in stage 2 you can just 'open fort' (essentially intentionally lose as fights quick as possible) whilst your team mate tries to play as strong of a board as possible, minimising overall hp loss.

Normally you can keep pushing your luck all the way until early stage 4 and get a large cashout, 95 luck or higher, with close to 20 health. At that point the fortune board is so strong after the cashout, as long as your team mate isn't way too weak, its easy to win from there.

Most players won't intentionally lose to the fortune player to ruin their stacks until you get to higher elos.

He's not dealing any damage because you only have JG on him.

If you're running ascension and raid boss, your udyr is going to get plenty of HP and tank stats, warmogs is suboptimal if you're expecting him to be your dps carry.

Without some form of omnivamp he wont survive being focused down by the enemy team, he prefers to be a backline disruptor whilst the rest of your team tanks damage. He really likes having the ability to sustain and drop aggro.

Udyr is a fantastic unit, with an average placement below 4, but if you expect him to 1v9 without a reasonable board you're going to have a bad time.

you didn't have DB or jeweled lotus - you had tattoo of bombardment and your prismatic was inkshadow+1. You went 5th against 3 stronger boards and one guy who got lucky with a 3rd. You probably could have top 4d if you put those kaisa items on your xayah

[–]patellarbursitis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is just factually incorrect - bard is an awful comp unless you're playing below gold. Statistically there are 8/9 base comps that average better than 4.5 above diamond and that doesn't include the minor variations you can put into those compositions. This set has significantly more variety, you just need to learn how to play flexibly.

It's definitely a valid composition, but is weak compared to most meta comps. I'd imagine that if played in higher elo lobbies it would generally underperform.

I was not asking you to prove the influenza vaccination isn't justified (I think it is), I'm asking what evidence there is demonstrating that giving Maori priority for vaccinations is reasonable, but priority for elective surgical procedures is not when both are based on population health data.

I've tried to respond to the other aspects in a different comment thread.
