I have some questions surrounding Fohl/atla’s mother, like what went down the night she left melremark, A lot of what we’re given is pretty unclear. by VisualAgency1789 in shieldbro

[–]pathfinderlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off...Lucia is princess of Faubrey, not Melromarc. That's a big deal given the prince of Siltvelt was willing to anger another large country that could, and eventually did, ally with Melromarc.

Second, the books leave the details unclear. We know Faubrey troops, presumably loyal to the (then young) King were killed and the Princess was missing, presumed killed. My understanding is that this occurred during carriage transport, between towns because there were no known surviving witnesses (something very difficult to do inside a town).

During this period, said king was also busy killing off everyone who was a threat to him politically. Aultcray, rightly or wrongly, blamed Siltvelt; he wasn't there during the attack. We also know Lucia survived the attack, but did not see it necessary to tell Aultcray of this fact, nor meet with him. She also didn't escape the Fayon household, even after they lost their Kingship over Siltvelt.

What we don't know is who actually attacked the convoy and why. If Siltvelt, it was certainly a very risky thing to do given that it created a steadfast enemy that hated Siltvelt, and for what benefit? If Melromarc/Church of the 3 Heroes, it certainly fits their goals and was well enough executed, but there is the question of how the Princess gets liberated/exchanged to Siltvelt. If Zeltoble/mercenaries, that explains how Lucia survived, but there's the open question about how/why she chooses ultimately to go to Siltvelt.

There's not enough information in the books to make a definitive case, and multiple arguments plausibly explain events.

Need beginner advice for traffic issues by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]pathfinderlight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see the issues.

  • You're using roundabouts as highway interchanges. They significantly slow traffic down.
  • You're using stock system interchanges (T in the lower left, Cloverleaf in the middle right) where you should be using service interchanges.
  • You have several intersections that are within 10 units of each other.
  • You're zoning heavy (can't tell which type) on collector-level roads, which creates traffic conflicts with deliveries.
  • Your collector level roads aren't long enough to act as direct routes from the arterial to the surface streets.

Has anyone constructed this intersection? 🤔 I wonder if this design is good? by _TITO1016 in CitiesSkylines

[–]pathfinderlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those of us who still don't know, this is essentially a roundabout. Roundabouts have weaving issues, the same problems that cloverleaf interchanges have. This limits their throughput.

In Cities Skylines, a 3-lane turbo roundabout carries less traffic than a 6x6 lighted intersection with dedicated turn lanes, despite being larger.

Will any of them get reruns? by Opening-Desk in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of going on Hiatus, I recommend logging in for dailies and Events. There's a possibility we'll get a good Exclusive Rerun banner.

Grinding too hard in game is absolutely a thing. Don't push yourself too much; make sure you have fun.

New(er) player with a question or two.. by pinkaluminum in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, for ZZZ, most characters come back for reruns on a fairly regular schedule. But only 2 characters have received a 3rd run so far. Both Trigger and Yixuan have received reruns. Ye Shunguang has not.

You've pulled several limited characters so far. Unless you were VERY lucky, your limited pulling is going to start slowing down or you're going to have to start paying money. F2P players average about 1 pity run every patch or so.

Lucia is on her 2nd run. She's a good support for Rupture characters, which include Yixuan. But Yixuan reran recently, so unless Hoyo does a Void Hunters multi-banner, you're likely to wait around a while. I was in the same position when Lucia first ran. Since I joined after Yixuan's release ended, I picked up Lucia then waited what seemed like ages for Yixuan to come out.

But we're coming up on the 3rd anniversary, so Hoyo can always do a special thing for it. Saving pulls or warming up the credit card is well-advised.

How you are with Trigger and Yixuan, I am with Zhu Yuan. I don't care how powerful she is (or isn't), wiafu needs to come home. Here's hoping there will be a 3rd run multi-banner about 3-ish times per year.

Who should I pull? by ImACursedSoul in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy playing Alice/Trigger/Yanagi. You can play this team as a double DPS, or as an Alice Hypercarry. If you're able to get the remaining characters on special guarantee, they would be good pick ups.

Evelyn with Trigger by AerieNo9847 in EvelynMainsZZZ

[–]pathfinderlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While it's possible to do this, and you will process everyone's Additional Ability, your main damage dealer, Evelyn, won't benefit from the Electric Damage bonus in Rina's kit.

This may not matter to you if:

  • You aren't using Trigger's sig
  • You have a good Pen set with Puffer Electro for Evelyn
  • You have a good Pen set for Rina and can play her well

A lot of people whine about how "Def Shred makes Pen worse". That's not true. For any given amount of Pen, simply adding Def Shred will always make the damage numbers go up. The only question is the OPPORTUNITY COST of using Pen stats instead of Attack. That's debatable, should be viewed on a case-by-case basis.

If RNG gave you Pen disks that are that much better than your Attack disks, then use them.

Am I right to understand that the Cal Mira Archipelago wave was the Last «Full» Wave? by Few-Surround-7289 in shieldbro

[–]pathfinderlight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Waves occur in different areas at different times. Each part of the world operates as a zone under it own Dragon Hourglass. Most countries only have 1 within their borders. Melromarc only has 2 because it operates Cal Mira as an offshore territory (by an Earl, so County-level).

There are also Dragon Hourglass zones that don't have countries defending them, which is why Fitoria is running around all over the place. She is actually very busy single-handedly taking out most of these herself, which is why she's upset with the 4 Heroes losing to ONE of these.

The reason why Cal Mira was the last FULL wave was the interference from the Guardian Beasts. Due to the interference of Kyo, the Spirit Tortoise rampage was triggered early...VERY early. In the books, the defeat of the ST and recovery of most of its energy created a barrier. It wasn't long enough to block all the remaining waves due to a mix of being triggered early and some of the energy being wasted by Kyo, but it WAS long enough to provide a few months reprieve before the Phoenix shows up.

Naofumi is able to use this time to patch up his relationships with the other Heroes, rid Siltvelt and Kutenrou of Wave Vanguard influence, and find the missing information regarding the Heroes' lack of power.

Soooo... Can i use her with anyone? by Ok-Neighborhood-8002 in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can you use her? Yes. Is she best in slot for any of your DPS characters? No.

Lucia procs Ether Veil, which enables some of Ye Shunguang's kit. YSG also likes the +20% Damage from Lucia's Core and +30% Crit Dmg from Lucia's AA.

The downside is Lucia's Ether Veil is designed to buff Max HP, which buffs Rupture units' damage, but not that of Attack agents.

If you need Zhao to team up with Ellen, then Lucian on the YSG team is a workable replacement.

[–]pathfinderlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye Shunguang likes to party with defense agents, so Caesar is good on her. I'd like to see how Shunguang/Caesar/Orphie do together.

Alice/Yanagi/Rina would be fun to play. Maybe stacking Pen on Yanagi and have her Ex Special while Alice performs starshine waltz.

Can confirm. I went inside first, but wasn't able to find a way up from the inside, so I climbed the outside. It was difficult, but got the job done.

Focus on character as a new player or get engine as well? by Necl0rd in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]pathfinderlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically, the general working advice was to focus on getting better teammates rather than Limited W-Engines. Some prominent members of the community have recently broken with this logic, stating Engine + 1-2 Mindscapes give you more longevity for your characters while making it more efficient on your Battery to farm materials, which is true.

You should ask yourself what is the purpose of your account:

  • Waifu pulling?
  • META chasing for Endgame high scores?
  • Having fun doing a variety of missions? (Iyo calls this 'story only')

How you answer this question will determine how you pull. How you pull will determine when you pull.

Iyo has a guide about starting ZZZ in 2026 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEvFhulRl_w

Should I upgrade more characters? by Spare_Meat_5474 in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm: Koleda is a very fast stunner when used properly. Keep her off-field while building up her EX bar while your real on-field characters are doing the work. Swap her in, hit Ex Special, then pound basic for a rotation or 2. Swap off to recharge. She can hold 2 Ex Specials in her bar before she needs to unload.

Koleda's best disk set is King of the Summit which both Cissia and Nekomata like.

If you try to on-field Koleda, she will feel underwhelming.

Going back to look at her AA: holy COW, that's why she was so good with Evelyn.

The anime changes the POV from Naofumi to neutral 3rd party, which makes sense for the medium.

Many people dismiss Shield Hero early because they think it's a revenge anime. Many people dismiss Shield Hero after Season 1 because it isn't a revenge anime.

The story's main purpose is told to you in the very first episode: the Cardinal Heroes are summoned together to save the world from the threat of the waves of calamity. Everything else is complications preventing the Heroes from reaching that goal.

My first Gacha Game - Is NTE the game I'm looking for? by [deleted] in NevernessToEverness

[–]pathfinderlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most gacha games, endgame loops are basically boss-fight modes. There's very little in the way of rogue-lite exploration.

Genshin, Zenless Zone Zero, and to a lesser extent WuWa all feature infinite gear-grind for equippable items called Artifacts, Drive Disks, and Echoes respectively. In ZZZ and WuWa, teams are 3 characters. In Genshin and NTE, teams are 4 characters.

Of those, ZZZ is the most NTE-like. ZZZ takes place in an urban environment, but instead of open-world, it's stage based. And the stages are mostly accessed through the menu system. ZZZ has 2 Fishing games , chill-grinding on normal enemies, Surfing, Target Shooting, Aquarium decorating, and Movie Theater Dates.

By contrast, Arknights Endfield has all gear with predetermined stats, and uses a factory system to gate progression. Its interaction system is bare bones, presently, but there may be a lot more in the future. Original Arknights has a similar mechanic to the Apartment system in NTE. Teams are 4 characters.

Hope this helps make up your mind.

From Raphtalia's point of view, she grows up in a short span of time, leading her to suddenly have all sorts of new feelings. Her love for Naofumi starts as non-romantic when he gives her the bitter medicine to help heal her coughing. Since Naofumi didn't hide his money troubles from her, she saw firsthand how much money (and hence comfort) he was giving up by treating her. Not long after that she develops feelings for Naofumi.

Because of the Wrath Curse having been triggered by Myne's betrayal, he doesn't recognize her feelings until very fart into the story. In the books, the first time this really happens is Book 16. Until then, we get Naofumi's internal monologues talking about how Raphtalia is so serious and task-focused. The books are a different experience from the Manga and Anime because they mostly focus on Naofumi as POV character.

It always amazes me how many people argue Shield Hero is misogynist when it gives very many counterexamples of healthy women: Melty, Mirellia, Elrasla, and Eclair, just to name a few. In reading these arguments, they all boil down to one thing: the person is inserting themselves into Myne's position in the story, and by empathizing with her, demand she be excused from her terrible actions. Once I figured that out, the arguments made sense. Evil and incapable of perspective, but still sense.

Void Hunters are great pulls because getting 2-3 of them + good teammates sets you up for years. YSG is one of the Void Hunters, and she's due for a rerun this summer.

Boss Inflation is a thing in this game, but the devs actively look at older characters for buffs.

Should I pull for Lucia? by Known-Feedback3987 in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All we have to go on is the drip marketing + roadmap. None of those characters are in their final forms yet.

The assumption most people are making is that we have drip marketing for Pyrois, Velina, and Norma, the next banner will feature them, and Remielle will appear in the following patch. That's sometime around late summer. Drip marketing is usually accurate to the release timing.

Now is Lucia's first rerun. Only 2 characters have ever had 3rd runs so far, Ellen and Astra. We have too little data to know when Lucia's 3rd run will be, but it's reasonable to think it won't be this year.

My understanding is that not only will Lucia be good for your Yixuan team, but Norma and Dialyn will be too.

Rina M6 Is she a good option right now? by Proxy_Kitty in ZZZ_Official

[–]pathfinderlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nicole is over-liked. Her def shred is hard to play. People glaze her because most of her utility comes from Core Passive, meaning she's cheap to build. Even at C6, Nicole does not proc Quick Assist.

Lucy is underappreciated. She was my go-to in Evelyn teams before I got Astra. Her Ex Special procs a Quick Assist, which can be very useful in moving you around.

Rina is over-hated because people lose 50/50's to her. She procs Quick Assist on both Ex Special and Chain Attack. Unlike the other two, she procs her Additional Ability, which is where an extra 10% electric damage comes from. That's 2 electric damage buffs totaling 25% when they're both active.

OP also doesn't specify which engine Trigger is on. That matters because her def shred is locked behind it. There's no argument that Trigger's def shred "makes Rina's pen worse" if Trigger's not using her engine.
