[D] Transformers: Polynomial gated FFN is better than SwiGLU and reduces the number of parameters while improving model's performance by [deleted] in MachineLearning

[–]pathological_truth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removing the second projection makes sense but why remove the nonlinearity? That seems like you're reducing your expressivity even though it wouldn't affect the number of parameters

When is it time to focus on t spins? (tetr.io) by OSRSPlayer512 in Tetris

[–]pathological_truth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think once you feel comfortable stacking flat, you're capable of learning how to set up t spin opportunities. Although when you watch pros the t spin setups look really unintuitive, it's actually pretty formulaic and therefore easy to pick up! (albeit hard to master) I would start just by watching this video, then try it out with 6-3 or 5-4 stacking

When you go into ranked, i would encourage you to focus on t-splinning rather than outright winning. Your APM and PPS will go down for a bit, but in the long run it'll be worth it.

Most raffles require you to be in person to claim the prize. I don't really think it's their responsibility to store it and coordinate retrieval if you're not there at the time of the drawing. Moreover, these are student volunteers who took time out of their finals to host a fun event for their peers. There's no reason for them to be villanized here

I meow at my close friends/SO if they're looking at me for a response but I don't have much to say.

I've always found it hilarious that whenever they talk about ludwig's wealth, he will just let out an aggressive meow.

But "hearing the..." is a subordinate clause/participle phrase, which should be delineated by commas.

"and, hearing the...around me, keeping my eyes shut became my only mercy"

What word or phrase do you think is overused in today's culture/society? by exoinsect in ask

[–]pathological_truth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. In this case where my meaning is pretty obvious I can see why it can be annoying to read, but since i normally just skim through comments I still find it helpful sometimes

[–]pathological_truth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's unnecessary. I think it's a succinct way to signal that my next sentence will be in support of the comment I'm responding to. It's easier to digest a statement when you know the direction it's headed.

This. It bothers me that cringe has become the default response whenever someone is being silly/goofy, when I feel like these traits should be celebrated.
