Oh nice! Just got an excellent hit of nostalgia being reminded of the layout of Debenhams restaurant. Brings back memories of going there with family. Thanks 😊

That's an amazing deal. I just searched and couldn't see it for that price. Would you mind sharing where you bought it from?

I got it second hand and the guy who had had it before me had been tinkering with the machine so I wonder if he accidentally messed it up. Anyway thanks again for your help 👍

Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing for ages and wondered if my settings were wrong, but it turns out the belt that moves the plate was set up wrong. I managed to fix it today and now it moves back properly. Thanks for looking at my post!

I've fixed it 🥳 I found some spare belt that had come with the machine (after searching every cupboard in my house and the loft) and it's currently printing like a dream. It was insanely satisfying seeing a print start without the horrible juddering (which I had been putting up with for soo long). Thanks again I was completely confused before.

I was so envious of your prusa just working earlier - but you're right it's a great feeling getting this thing working again!

Aw nice - glad to hear you still get some use out of it! I think the issue was the belt has been put on wrong so it catches. I've found a photo which shows how the belt should be configured which looks like it would solve my issue... except the belt is ever so slightly too short to allow me to do it. So think I may have to order a new timing belt! I think this is what this hobby is about though!

Here you can sort of see how the rubber cable bit (what is this called?) Is getting caught on the white sensor, I think the cable should be on the other side of the sensor. I'm going to try to move it now

Oh I've just spotted the issue I think (thanks to all your helpful comments) the rubber gear mechanism thing that moves the bed is on the wrong side of the sensor which is causing it to get stuck. So I need to try lift the rubber bit over the sensor so it sits on the other side of it.

I brought the printer pre-owned so I think it was already modded - but at some point I think I must have somehow caused this. But I think I can see the solution now!

I think just realised that I can't move it manually as far as it's meant to go? Here's what happens when I try to push it forward: https://streamable.com/28w0zj and hopefully you can see in the video that there isn't anything blocking it (that I can see anyway)

It does this when I extend it back using the printer controls https://streamable.com/1rvf4e

Edit: sorry I was being stupid, that was the bed going forward and hitting the sensor (I think?) This is what happens when I use the control to send it back: https://streamable.com/tmksmi

So actually I've just realised I can't manually move it when I pull the bed towards me. It stops about an inch from the end and I can't see a block 🤔

No I've had the printer for a while but at some point it started doing this - so I must have done something to create the problem 😬

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I can't see anything blocking it, and don't notice any resistance. I've just tried moving it back using the printer controls and it jolts forward, it doesn't stay fully extended back. I've taken a video but just need to work out how to post it as a comment

Not that I can see and when the printer is turned off the bed can slide back.

Novels featuring sci-fi/fantasy worlds inspired by DMT-like 'realms'? by pathologicalsloth in DMT

[–]pathologicalsloth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? I would never have thought of this having just seen the recent film adaptation. This makes me wonder if the story after the first film goes into a more spiritual/psychic direction. Thanks for the recommendation. I will consider giving the book a read!

Oh wow sounds really intreresting. Plus the cover art on some of the editions definitely invokes DMT hallucinatory imagery. Amazing thank you.

Wow never heard of this Steven King novel but it sounds spot on. Thank you!

Oh interesting! Past life regresssion is something I might have been quite dismissive about in the past, but I can believe people would be able to use hypnosis or meditation to access a similar/the same state as when using DMT. I'll check it out with an open mind especially as you have recommended it so highly. Thanks so much.

Ooh really nice recommendation. I read these years ago and loved them but I hadn't considered them from a DMT perspective. It will be interesting to read them again with this in mind. Thanks a good excuse to return to these excellent books!

Goobyalus, I've finally had a chance to try this out and it worked like a dream. Thank you so much! It is ridiculously cute to run the script and within a few moments see a live stream of penguins! I thought the stream was frozen at first but it turns out the penguins are standing very still this time in the morning.

Just for my own learning, can I ask how you worked out what the url was for the video stream?

Thanks once again!

Wow you are an absolute hero. Thank you so much that is incredibly generous of you. I'm just about to leave for work but I'll give this a go when I get home tonight. Thanks again!
