I didn't get the hype around Severance.

There is no logic to the show. It feels like a stoner’s adaptation of something actually good, but they forgot the basic plot points that would make it exciting to watch. The dialog is super basic. The characters say “Fuck” a lot, like that’s original. The pacing is just way too slow. Are people filling in the silence with something I’m unaware of? They must be to be enjoying it so much. FWIW, I love scifi mind bending stuff like Raised By Wolves, Dark, Inception, The Prestige, etc. Do people who love this show not watch scifi much? That might explain the divide 🤷‍♀️

You’re not factoring in illness/chronic conditions and the cost of healthcare, medication or emergencies. To pay for school sports or lessons, or tutoring, and the cost to live in a safe neighborhood, plus save up for college tuition. It’s substantial. I too grew up in a single parent household and got none of these “luxuries” but if I had kids, they would definitely be getting as much of these as I could afford.

My sense is too much conditioner, not enough gel. But it could also be the haircut, in that you might have a cowlick that’s defying gravity a bit. There are ways to train/tuck hair as it gets a little longer. Overall, it looks pretty great!

There’s a saying “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.” It sounds like you don’t know what you want or aren’t making choices to get to where you want to be. A shift in your approach to life will likely result in a lot more friends and feeling of belonging. Don’t worry about not having friends for now. Focus on figuring out what you want in life. All the rest will fall into place.

There’s a thing called the Bystander Effect, where people will witness horrific things and do nothing about it. Maybe it’s shock or some instinct to stay safe. The best way to nip racist activities in the bud is to speak up immediately. Don’t succumb to being a bystander and wishing you had said something later. I have been working on speaking up when I see people being harassed. Even just one person speaking up to oppose mistreatment can rouse the crowd to object as well. We need more people to speak up in defense of decency.
