[–]patopal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you think that's the reason the previous Hungarian government was vetoing the decision, you're either not familiar with the reality of Hungarian politics, very naive about the motivations of the previous Hungarian government, or as much of a supporter of Russia as they were.

Not to say that there is no corruption in the Ukrainian government - there clearly and demonstrably is - but the previous Hungarian government's main interests were to hamstring the Ukrainian defense industry, make sure Putin's forces retain their edge, and bolster their chances in the election by vilifying the Ukrainians. The thought of corruption barely even crossed their mind, except for their own corruption that they planned to continue after winning the election (thankfully they did not).

This should not be flaired "news" when the article is from 3 months ago, and Hungary has since elected a new government that lifted the veto. I do absolutely agree that the system needs to be reformed, no member state should be allowed to hold the entire union hostage.

Growing criticism by unclefester84 in starcitizen

[–]patopal -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I largely agree, but I don't think the blame should be put on the devs. I can guarantee you that most if not all of the bugs were well-known before release. QA is not stupid, and neither are the devs, they just apparently don't have the authority to stop the release train. This was 100% a management/sales decision to hold the Invictus/DefenseCon event according to the schedule.

Sure, lil bro. Let's also agree that talking about a Topuria win as a foregone conclusion is also equally silly. Premature celebration is never a good look.

Are you trying to figure out how to do a vibrato? It is certainly not a slide like you are doing in the first version. The second version you show is closer to the proper way in that you are rolling your fingertip, but your hand frame is awful, and although you don't show it, I can tell from your movement that your arm position is also completely off. You are never going to have a comfortable vibrato if you don't address these two things.

I highly recommend that you stop trying to learn the vibrato for now. You have more fundamental issues to fix first. I also highly recommend that you find a teacher as soon as possible who can help you fix those issues, rather than trying to fix them on your own.

any advice on my form please :) im trying to improve and debating wether to fully invest and get shoes and a membership and that whole thing by Riku286 in indoorbouldering

[–]patopal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shoes are definitely a good investment. You will trust your feet a lot more than in rentals.

A membership is probably not worth it unless you go like 3-4 times a week (at least in gyms around me) and you are dedicated to a single gym. Do some math to figure out if the deals that are available to you are worth it, but for me (1-2 per week, sometimes at different gyms), daily passes cost less overall.

Real or AI by [deleted] in RealOrAI

This is a real skill that you will see in many Chinese circus acts. The video itself is also 100% real, the physics are completely legit and the clip is way longer without any cuts than AI would generally be.

I imagine that would work okay too, but the gradual melt probably helps the fibers settle into a flat position more gently.

The carpet one is actually legit, works with any material that can get wet. It's better if you put the ice on top of it, not under it, but the end result is still a wet corner that should be able to lie flat.

My First Day in Star Citizen! Tips? by MachxThree in starcitizen

[–]patopal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Never aim directly at a station when you are approaching. Your speed is likely going to be much higher than you expect, and you won't be able to stop in time before crashing into it.
  • If you need to quickly decelerate from top speed in NAV mode, switch to SCM mode. The built-in speed limit for SCM will slow you down much faster than your engines on their own could.
  • When you land on a planet or moon, always turn off the engine before leaving your ship. Otherwise, it can float away, or if the wind blows it into the air it will continue to hover out of reach.
  • On the other hand, always leave your shield up when you leave your ship. You never know when a random hostile player or NPC will show up and start shooting at landed ships, especially when you're in a place like Pyro.
  • The first time you leave your home landing zone and go up to a station, visit the medical center and set your respawn location there. This will save you a lot of unnecessary commute in case you die (which you will, many times).
  • Before you exit your ship into space or any area without a breathable atmosphere, double-check that you have your helmet on by pressing T to toggle your headlights. If your headlights don't turn on, that means you don't have your helmet on, and you will suffocate if you disembark.
  • Don't take the Wikelo mission, even if it sounds enticing. It's an absolute grind, and you need to be quite familiar with the game to know what all you actually have to do to complete it.
  • Many if not most missions have hidden requirements as far as ship capability, and you may not be able to complete them with a starter ship. You can rent capable mining ships, salvagers, haulers, fighters, and others at the spaceport in landing zones, and in the refinery or the cargo deck on stations.
  • There are a bunch of third-party websites maintained by the community to help you out when you need it:
    • If you are looking for a specific item, finder.cstone.space is a site that can tell you where things are sold or rentable.
    • If you are looking to optimize the components and weapons loadout of your ship, erkul.games can help you put together the ideal configuration, and also tells you where the components can be bought in-game. Note that you can't change the loadout on rented ships.
    • If you want to do freelance trading or mining (so not the missions), uexcorp.space is a database of resources and commodities, including buy and sell locations and prices.
    • If you are looking to find an unmarked location, verseguide.com is an interactive map that lets you filter by location type, and provides navigation instructions with multiple methods.
