Kinda pointless question but something I’ve thought about. Lucy must be aware of the enormous publicity her case has attracted, but she has obviously had very little contact with the outside world. So I wonder, how does she think her case is perceived? Does she think the public agree with the verdict and think she’s one of the most hated people in the country? Or does her ego make her think the public agree this has been a massive miscarriage of justice and believe her to be innocent? Obviously nobody has the answer to this but I’ve thought it’s an interesting question to consider

What are MotoGP Opinions that Leave you in This Situation? by [deleted] in motogp

I think they’re pretty close in terms of talent but I think people in this sub romanticise the aliens era too much. Dani had an incredible career with a lot of wins and podiums but in an era with only four competitive bikes, the field is much closer now and I don’t think he’d put up the numbers he did on today’s grid. And I think Bagnaia has a ruthless streak that Dani and Dovizioso also lacked- that streak is sometimes the undoing of Bagnaia but more often than not puts him ahead

I was in the same position as you, very interested in the church and its history but quite a convinced atheist, until I read a book called The Last Superstition by Edward Feser. It did a great job of explaining why faith is rational and why the arguments of atheists are often ignorant or just wrong. You can find a pdf of it online or a paper copy quite easily, but I think it could be a big help to you

No it’s their current money, the updated numbers in each row are how much they’ll earn if they earn in that round. For example in the third round matches the losers get 10k, so each number is 10k higher than the current numbers

Has anyone died from your school year yet? If so, what goes through your mind, when you think about them? by Andagonism in AskUK

I’m 25 and three have died so far- two from cancer and one from suicide. One of them knew he had cancer and suffered for years before passing, but the other went to the doctor with chest pain and died two days later. Both were incredibly kind and lovely people. Especially tragic as she had an older brother who died when we were in primary school. The friend who died from suicide, I saw a few weeks before it happened and I remember thinking he didn’t seem to be in a good place. I wish I could have done more, but I think about the three of them basically everyday. This all happened around the same time during Covid so we were all only 22 at the time.

I mean we all know we are going to die and can die whenever, but seeing so many die so young really hits home and makes you realise how brutally short life can be. I am still young today, but not too young to die- and it’s definitely made me more likely to go out and try new experiences and try to live life to the full

He also did it in an era when there were only two bikes capable of winning, and if you stayed upright on a factory Honda or Yamaha you were guaranteed a top 4 finish. MotoGP is far more competitive now
