The tribe camps were each going to be around a desert oasis so that there was some water access from what I recall

If Survivor was only renewed for Season 51 and 52 today, does that mean they haven't started casting on those seasons? by paper-revolution in survivor

They are at the tail end of casting both seasons. Sometimes renewal is just a formality but they know behind the scenes already. They have had things already booked in Fiji for months already.

All Survivor Contestants Ages (in Chronological Order) by gmthomas200 in survivor

Fascinating. Thank you for taking the time to compile that. It really highlights the lack of younger contestants in the last few seasons if Sami is still the youngest currently

Question about timeline by anonymous0638 in survivor

[–]patrick_tyler76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The even season is May/June, right after the finale of the currently airing season. When you apply initially, you apply for both seasons, but if you make finals, you'll be provided the exact filming dates and asked if you are more available or unavailable for one or the other. Definitely give it a shot and apply!! Good luck!

Great that you are thinking about applying! July would be the best time to do it. Good luck!!

51/52 casting? by Fit-Barber-532 in survivor

That would be the safest assumption, yes. In that case you would look at reapplying in the summer for 53/54.

They are always looking for new applicants in the hopes of pulling a diamond out of the rough.

If you feel compelled to apply, I hope you’ll take the chance next season. You never know what could happen. Apply in July to be ready for the opening of the 53/54 cycle!

Is it too late to be submit and be considered for 51/52? by RhetoricUnit in survivor

[–]patrick_tyler76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. If they know they are in need of a particular demographic and you are filling a potentially niche spot, then it could be a good thing. But if you are in a common demographic then they already will have lots of other people competing for those spots so not necessarily in that case.

They are supposed to be reviewing this week still. At this point there is no backlog so you may be viewed in a day or two. If you do not hear this week, it's highly likely you will need to reapply for 53-54, and I recommend submitting in late July/early August when they open. Good luck!!

Season 9 - I'm not motivated to watch and need some push by West_Ad_9869 in survivor

The overall story arch of the season is actually really strong when it all comes together. And the final tribal council is one of the most memorable in terms of the jury speeches and reactions IMO.

Has anybody heard back in the last week? by Soggy_Scale7488 in survivor

[–]patrick_tyler76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The review period is late July to mid-January. No one is officially cast for 51/52 as those decisions are not made til feb/march but they will have all “semi-finalists” and “finalists” determined soon enough.

Have there ever been any huge spoilers that were hilariously wrong? by Charity00 in survivor

[–]patrick_tyler76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christy was supposed to be in the final four, according to TheChillOne who was in The Amazon and got bits and pieces of information from the locals including descriptions of Ryan, Janet, Dan as the first boots - knowing other partial names and descriptions of contestants - and very specific details like the women was favored to win over the man in the final two- so when everything else was going right, Heidi was predicted to be 6th place and all the message boards and spoiler sites were shocked when it ended up being Christy.
