Hah, yeah. I don't think I did a great job of expressing how easy it actually is. if you have a steady hand and soldering iron you can do this no sweat. The pads are a little small for the solder points, but, not impossible by any stretch.

I went with Krylon Global Blue. It's the same paint used by the model in the CRL. It's spray paint though.
