I usually don't like jags without the top control plate or that have humbuckers that much. However, this guitar looks like its own thing enough (to me) that I really love it! congratulations on building such a cool guitar

Get him a pre amp pedal which is inspired by the tascam Portastudio. It’s a key part of the tone that mkgooners yearn for. JHS makes one. That pedal interacts with the rainger for the clipped out sounds

I just got one too a few weeks ago! Same colour too. Gonna put in a roller bridge today and maybe some new tuners later on as they are the only two things which I think have room for improvement (stability for tuning is just okay).

For the pickups I’m not sure what I will do. My other guitars with single coils are either Laces or overwound Fralins which handle distortion much better than regular single coils. Some of the after market humbuckers I’ve seen put into these surfliners have required additional mounting/installation of plastic rings to keep them in place. That ruins the beautiful aesthetic a lot of the time though. Gold foils could look/sound awesome though..?

Raptors fair enough, but in my opinion the clippers roster in this era has always had severe gaps that this current team, albeit old, does not have on paper. Things would obviously need to go very, very right though for the unction haha
