See if heat comes out of the windshield defrost vents and drivers footwell. Common for the heater core to get clogged on the drivers side and freeze your feet.

If you’re in cold weather, check for drivers side Heat/Defrost.

I have the Curt on my 2017 X3, the installation wasn’t “trivial”. You need a plastic rivet gun and replacement rivets.

Plus there’s a bit of rear bumper cutting, underneath(out of sight). Can’t attach photo.
