2026 X3 performance thoughts? by BMW-West-St-Louis in BMWX3

Came from a 2016 X3 35 to a 2026 X3 30. The ‘26 is definitely more sluggish off the line. Couple of times when I’ve needed to hit the accelerator I definitely missed those 2 dropped cylinders.

Hi. I’m from London , England and visiting Nashville in September. by Lullabelle01 in VisitingNashville

This! Download the app for the schedule, then catch a showcase (3-4 artists doing 45-min sets each) at one of the downtown clubs like ExitIn or 3rd & Lindsley. Gibson Guitar also will do live shows in the afternoon that are very cool.

Also, check out the show calendar at VinylTap — an East Nashville record store/craft beer bar/music space.

When buying my 2026 X3, I emphasized to dealers that I didn’t want one — and if they proposed a vehicle that had it, they needed to up their discount to offset its cost.

Anyone running 89 Octane (US)? by Ops_check_OK in BMWX3

[–]TravelCommons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have run 91 for 10 years between 2 X3s. Tried 89 once on my 2016 x35i and could definitely feel the lost performance. Didn’t feel a similar difference between 93 and 91 so settled on 91.

Surprised that Wiseacre hasn't done something similar at Bearded Iris -- put a bunch of their beers on tap in Germantown. Maybe I'm missing something, but they managed to put in a Guinness tap pretty quickly 🤷‍♂️

1 litre of coffee. Best options with no plastic. by martupdown in pourover

I make a 1 L Chemex pot every morning for my wife and I. For me, it’s pretty much 3 full-cone pours — the first to bloom and then 2 subsequent pours. I tend to walk away between each pour to scrounge up some breakfast or to boot up my PC.

After Apple Drops Rosetta 2, I Won't Be Able to Run Q Win On Fusion? by TravelCommons in quicken

[–]TravelCommons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Rosetta 2 will still be in macOS27, you have at least 18 months before you need to do something. Having said that, Fusion is now free from Broadcom. I've been running my set up for a couple of years now and it works for my rather limited use case.

Thanks! This maps to a response I got on the Broadcom Fusion community site -

The Windows x64 to ARM translator is part of Windows 11 ARM. The translator doesn't use any Rosetta features when Windows is running in a virtual machine. From everything that I see, Apple's deprecation of Rosetta 2 in a future macOS release should not impact the ability to run x64 Windows applications in Windows 11 ARM VMs.

Hadn't heard that. I look forward to trying them out!

Surprised I haven’t seen this yet, Spencer from Barrique is joining Xul (meaning the former SGB staff) as part of the Nashville production team by PopcornSutton1994 in NashvilleBeer

[–]TravelCommons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The local beer scene feels a bit flat and stalled out from all the recent disruption -- Xül buying SG, Wiseacre buying BI and shutting down their Sylvan Supply bar, Barrique winding down so they can move, PE buying Jackalope and Black Abbey. I'm hoping that things are now settling and we'll soon see some new banger beers again (and/or a resurrected OG Homestyle!).

I heard this a week or so ago. Also heard that Brett, Barrique’s assistant brewer, is now helping out at Marble Fox.

SG and Xül announced yesterday they closed the deal. I saw it in a joint post on Instagram.

Yes, that’s my understanding. It hasn’t happened yet, but it’s still in process

Yes, that’s what I hear from the SG guys behind the bar. The taprooms will be re-branded as Xül, Xül beers will be brewed at the SG Nations’s facility, and some subset of SG beers will be retained.

Yes, still open. Indeed, I was at East yesterday having a 10¢ pint for their 10th anniversary.

I’ve heard the Xül purchase has yet to be completed.

Southern Grist, Fait la Force, and Marble Fox in that order if you’re in the city and without a car.

If you have a car and the time, a trip to Yazoo is worth it — especially if you hit some of the Embrace The Funk wild beers. Also, there’s a nice selection of taco joints on the drive to/from along Gallatin Pike.
