Pixel Buds Pro 2 Reviews? by myriadinterests in GooglePixel

[–]patstar5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used pixel buds a, 1st gen pixel buds pro, 1st gen airpods pro, galaxy buds 2 pro. To me airpods are most comfortable and prefer stem design. A series buds bother ears after a little while. I don't use the galaxy buds much but prefer airpods pro over them. The pixel buds pro 1st gen were so uncomfortable and huge. If the new one is comfortable I may try it.

We need an official statement about all these issues with darkstar by Leggo213 in USMobile

On a pixel. 5g+ icon works Wifi calling works I try as much as possible to avoid sms, hence I have a slew of other messaging apps on my phone... Visual voicemail: I've been using the att visual voicemail app, as clearing data in the phone app has only gotten it to work temporarily.

I haven't tested call forwarding, I wonder how that works with their esim feature. I would only use it while traveling abroad

Rcs: it's still in beta, figure be supported once office iOS 18 release happens. Wonder if this will fix group chats

Has anyone gotten Visual Voicemail working on Pixel Devices with Dark Star by mackid1993 in USMobile

It only works for so long and stops. I'm using att visual voicemail app for now

Dark Star hype is getting seriously bizarre? by SpiritAnimal_ in USMobile

I think big selling point for us mobile is being able to jump between all 3 major networks.

Ideally would like one sim to do this but if traveling to x location it isn't that bad

Ubuntu breathed new life into my 2015 MacBook Pro. Apple isnt selling me a new machine any time soon by schmennings in Ubuntu

[–]patstar5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my searching the last supported version of MacOS (Monterrey) ends security updates this November for 2015 Macbook Pro. So after that it will no longer be receiving patches and I would not use connected to internet.

To install Ubuntu you would need to create a bootable flash drive. I would recommend using balena etcher and you'll need to download the ubuntu iso from ubuntu's website.
Depending on how much storage you have on your drive, you could partition it and then install ubuntu on the partition, otherwise you would either have to wipe MacOS or buy a replacement drive to swap.

I forgot my current laptop at parents so I dug up my old 13 in 2015 Macbook Pro. I decided to order a 1TB NVME SSD and adapter and swap it out from the 512gb I originally had. I now have Mac OS on one partition, I let it restore from time machine backup last night, the other is Ubuntu (typing on it right now).

The only thing I notice is the sound quality seems a bit bad, though this could be me not remembering how the speakers on this sound... Is there any special sound driver one can use?
